🥁 2 days post Businessplan-Wettbewerb Berlin-Brandenburg (BPW) 🥁 Let's get it out of the way: We did not win, sorry, fans! Thanks for all the support though, especially everyone who came to the event just for Henrietta! You guys are just ❤️ Congrats to the winners of both the main prize and the audience prize (I honestly don't think anyone could have competed with that winning pitch, so chapeau!). The good news for me and Henrietta though: We ranked 6th in total! Out of more than 150 entries 🤯 I tend to sweep accomplishments like this under the rug but I think it is time to take a step back and look at this result as it is. This was my first business plan I ever wrote. It is a strange feeling to publicly say that I am proud of something I achieved but I am. Is this a female thing? And of course it wouldn't be a proper LinkedIn Post without the key learnings, so I also have one for you: A business plan is hard work but once I had it, it made so much sense to do it. Sounds like a no brainer but sometimes we need to say the most obvious things or even write them down - like you have to with your business idea in a business plan. Many of the things I wrote down felt like "d'uh" moments because it was all in my head, not really cohesive but it was there. Consequently, it was really important to see them all written down in a structured form. It made me feel much safer with my idea and the execution. Also, I was able to incorporate so many bits and pieces that came to me which led to a well rounded strategy. So I will definitely continue with the plan for the next phase in may and incorporate the feedback I was given. LESSONS FROM 1959 This is a 1959 Porsche 356A, silver with red interior. It was one of 447 built in that year and probably one of only a couple hundred left. Most of the others were wrapped around trees or have rusted out. In the past 10 years I have rallied this car thousands of miles, with my son or daughter as co-pilots, all over the U.S. and more recently in Europe. There are lessons this car teaches us- The classics always stand the test of time. The car - like all of us - needs to exercise often to remain in good running condition. Annual check ups and tune ups must be a priority to maintain longevity. If you look good - you feel good. The value of all great things increases over time. On that last note there is an investment lesson: In 1959, the year this car was built, the Dow Jones Stock index was 632 and now stands at a 37,600! Astounding math and returns come from owning stock in great companies and avoiding the not-so great. We have an epic euro rally in this beauty coming this summer!
