Price is the first signal of your promise. If you are selling a product for Rs 2000 while others sell it at Rs 1000, then your marketing and brand efforts needs to answer why customers are paying that extra Rs 2000. The quality of the product, the value the customer gets out of it, and the story your brand has crafted around the product will define if your customer will pay you that extra Rs 1000. The trouble is when the underlying fundamentals are flawed, and we don’t have a strong reason to charge that Rs 1000, price slashes and deep discounts take over. (Sounds familiar?) About 1.5 months after purchasing a cleanser, I received a message from the brand saying, "Your cleanser might be over… you should replenish it now." This proactive step, while seemingly small, is a game-changer. It's the first time I've seen a cosmetic company take this approach—gently reminding consumers to restock just when they might need to.
