Celebrate the 4th safely this year. Hand and eye injuries due to fireworks send people to the emergency room every year over the Independence Day Holiday. In order to ensure you can return to work without incident, follow these tips: 🧨Always light fireworks on the ground and never in your hands. 🧨Never put your face over fireworks when lighting them. 🧨Do not use fireworks when intoxicated or impaired. 🧨Follow the directions on packaging. 🧨Do not allow small children to use fireworks. Sparklers burn at 2,000° F and account for 25% of fireworks related emergency room visits. Your best bet is to leave it to the professionals. Search to find where there is a fireworks show in your community. Happy Independence Day! 🇺🇲
Wishing everyone a happy and safe 4th of July! Our country turns 248 years old this Independence Day and hopefully everyone has an enjoyable holiday whether it's BBQing, lounging in the pool or at the beach, or spending time with friends and family watching fireworks. #IndependenceDay #4thofJuly #America #USA #AccentCompliance

It is that time of the year when we celebrate the year that has passed. Often, it is celebrated with much joy and gratitude. It is an appropriate time to be thankful and appreciative of those who have been a help, a positive influence, or someone who stood by us. Research suggests that the timing of showing gratitude can make a big difference. According to that research, the most skillful thing we could do is to express genuine gratitude in advance. By thanking someone we are asking to help with an unpleasant task, expressing gratitude in advance can counteract some of the negative emotions associated with it. Also, expressing gratitude early makes them more likely to persist through any challenges to bounce back and be resilient. As we end the year, would we consider being thankful to those around us by not only thanking them for what they had done but also anticipate possible distress, difficulty, and unpleasant emotions that may be inherent in working together in the coming year? This requires not only being aware of what is going on in the moment, but also what is likely to happen in the future. Taking their perspective, this awareness and anticipation can come from a number of places, including our own prior experience and acknowledging that the tasks ahead will be unpleasant. The research showed that it is important to use words that explicitly describe why the other person’s behavior matters. Expressing genuine gratitude for how impactful their action is, despite the difficult and distressing circumstances, has a positive effect in encouraging them for their contributions. It also found that expressing appreciation can boost the person’s self-worth. This raises their sense of altruism, cooperativeness and team spirit. In a survey of 2,000 employees, it was found that 70% reported they would feel better about themselves if their boss were more grateful. 81% said they would be more motivated for a grateful boss. According to Gallup’s Global Emotions report, negative emotions are higher today than they were a decade ago. The workplace today is more difficult and distressing. It is no wonder that there is a general dread employees feel about their work. To bridge this “gratitude gap” we can all help build a culture of gratitude. Be appreciative of others and create the habit of expressing gratitude not only after the fact but even before any work is done. Let’s spread some good cheer this season … #MerryChristmas #gratitude #gratefulness #leadership #caringleaders #Thanksgiving This podcast drew inspiration from “When Expressing Gratitude to Employees, Timing Matters”, by Hooria Jazaieri and Olivia (Mandy) O’Neill, Harvard Business Review November 21, 2024
