McLaren Group is the latest automotive brand to enter virtual worlds and connect with Gen Z. Their integration into GEEIQ-partner Voldex’s ‘Driving Empire’ on Roblox reflects a noticeable rise in automotive virtual brand activations. At 22 activations this year so far, 2024 has seen a record-breaking number of automotive brands enter virtual worlds, according to GEEIQ. The same period last year only saw four new activations. That’s a 450% increase. Renault Group is another example of an iconic brand crafting a multi-channel virtual strategy. This month, they have launched activations across Fortnite, The Sandbox and Minecraft as well as Roblox. These brands are getting ahead of their competitors by tapping into traditionally hard-to-reach younger audiences dispersed across different platforms.
