Founder, The Reeder | SaaS Content Strategy Consulting

My content team's mission is NOT to create -brand -pipeline -revenue (Those are goals) Our mission is to *Build Trust At Scale* Why? We know we need to win MIND share before we can win MARKETshare. It's much more powerful to 1. Earn attention 2. Build an audience 3. Convert trust into action That's how we think about growing brand, pipeline, revenue, etc. (I cover some of the "how" in the video below). If your content strategy is designed to build trust at scale, it's damn near impossible to lose. — Shout out to Mark Huber and UserEvidence for the convo and for building tech that helps marketing leaders do it with ease.

Devin, this is spot on! 🔥 I was just at the tradeshow RSA in SF and throughout my many conversations, I A/B/C tested a product-focused pitch vs. a customer success-focused pitch vs. a problem-focused pitch. Guess which one was the most successful?

I feel seen after literally having just posted about a problem, immediately followed by how our product solves it 😂 The urge is real. But this makes so much sense.

"If your content strategy is designed to build trust at scale, it's damn near impossible to lose." This is a post, mic drop, people read that and repeat it to yourselves and your team. Make a sign, tee shirt (big one), right it on your dry erase mantra board 🏆

In 21+ years, I've discovered 99% of business owners make these 3 big mistakes in sales: 1. Not knowing that the only reason people buy, is to get from their current reality to their desired reality, by the quickest and easiest path. 2. Not making it crystal clear that their solution is the quickest and easiest path from their prospect’s current reality, to their desired reality. 3. Not linking what they do to the outcome their prospects want. So, knowing avoiding these, may help you sell more stuff, to more people, more often, at higher prices. 😊

This makes so much sense! Instead of just aiming for sales or brand recognition, focusing on earning people's trust on a large scale is key. It's like winning people's attention before trying to sell them something. By getting people to trust you, you're more likely to succeed in growing your brand and making sales.

Wow, you put into simple words, probably the most complex thing about all marketing. (P.S: building trust at scale can’t be attributed, so a lot of us fall into executing tactics).
