We usually consider constraints limiting, but in creativity, constraints can be truly liberating. They force you to stretch, to innovate within boundaries, and to find unique solutions. Think of it like jazz: musicians improvise but within the song's structure. The constraint fuels creativity. Because the best ideas aren’t born from freedom but from the challenges we embrace along the way. This week, try setting some creative constraints —time limits —resource limits —some anti-goals —even a theme and see where it takes you. #CreativeConstraints #Innovation #BoundariesFuelCreativity #FocusAndFlow

Sustainable Value Creation Through Business Models: The What, the Who and the How: Ludeke-Freund, Rauter, Pedersen and Nielsen. Understanding your organisation and the quintessential model it operates in will assemble and improve your interpretation of how the business is being managed. The views expressed in this paper should challenge you to enquire, is the current model you are employed in converge and is it suitably managed to sustain value creation in today's world? Finally this paper allows us an opportunity to re-evaluate the positioning of a business model whilst providing the What, the Who and the How. As today is the Sabbath, I've provided music in recognition of this special day. As I always say. Unleash Your Inner Creative Force: Lessons from Rick Rubin Legendary producer Rick Rubin's methods are unconventional, but his 9 Grammys speak for themselves. His approach is about essence, not trends. He empowers artists (think hands-off!), then challenges them to refine their core message (think multiple takes!). But is it for everyone? Black Sabbath's Geezer Butler found Rubin's approach to their 2013 comeback album, "13," to be...interesting. Rubin pushed them to forget heavy metal (a genre they basically pioneered) and recapture their raw, early sound. Ridiculous? Maybe. But Rubin's book, "The Creative Act," explains his philosophy. "Detaching from the story," as he calls it, is about removing creative baggage and reconnecting with your authentic voice. So, next time you're stuck in a rut, remember Rick Rubin: Strip away the noise, focus on your core essence, and unleash your creative power! #RickRubin #TheCreativeAct #Source #creativity #leadership #business #music #mind #success #musicbusiness

Do you think (or have you been told) that creativity—the good kind, anyway—is all about creating something out of thin air? (Bolts of lightning, anyone?) Or that it has to be about big steps and grand gestures? The truth is that creativity thrives when you learn not only how to take little steps, one after the other, but also that these smaller steps can be just as powerful as anything bigger. And the same goes for changes. Little ones can have just as much impact, if not more, than the much bigger ones. __________________________________________________________________ 🎵I’m Dr Kate Paine. Why use film as a research method? Hear from Miguel Loor Paredes from Monash University on how using #ethnographic #film as a research method compares to more traditional academic outputs. Miguel is using visual ethnographic methods to document his PhD research on 'Reimagining automated work futures at the intersection of music and technology'. His project aims to understand the motivations and experiences of workers at the intersection of technology and creativity who explore the potential of human and machine collaboration in musical applications and settings for future scenarios.
