Happy P R I D E 🏳️🌈💜💚💛🧡❤️🩷🩵🖤💜💙🤎 Until we recognize and fully embrace people are people and accept them and welcome them for WHO THEY ARE we continue celebrating a day or a month of anyone “othered” ~ sadly in 2024 many people do not have a world view that is accepting of gender identity color religion ….. you fill in the ______ I am so glad I was born in 1964 and felt the collective energy of the movement with civil rights, gay rights and women’s rights (just to name a few) that was a POWERFUL decade the 60s and I feel my DNA my essence my soul was born to speak up - I was too young to walk in a march but I saw my mother and father be open minded especially my dad with exposing me and my sister and our friends to his business in the city and our friendship to people who were not having the same life experiences as we were in cookie cutter white suburbia 🏘️ on a court now called “cul de sac” weirdly 😂 People are our businesses our family, friends, neighbors - we can’t go on without ALL people I encourage and invite you to have coffee or a conversation with someone different than you. It’s in between the intersection of one’s own uncomfortableness that you change - feel the fear and do it anyway ~ Gloria Steinem quote I have been an ALLY for as long as I can remember - more thanks to my cousin Elaine for taking me with her and her friends to places museums and shops w her gay friends at age 10 - what a cool life I have had and continue to have ☮️💟🏳️🌈🦋♒️ That very young experience allowed me to OPENLY embrace fully accept my gay friends and when my own incredible son came out at 18 I hugged him hard and love him even more because he had the courage to BE WHO HE IS and my daughter his sister is SO special as she has surrounded herself by diverse friends all her life from an early age and my son, her 4 yr younger brother saw that from a very young age ! So much love I have learned from my 2 children ~ you can unlearn to relearn the bias and change yourself - anyone can change that is the best gift a human can experience in a lifetime and it starts with self love and compassion for ALL #pride #saygay #lovewins🌈

Time is worth more than money ✨✨ Isn’t life one big lesson? When we are young we believe time is infinite. When we would be asked “do you want more vacation time or do you want more money” on the JOB we would choose money. As we grow we see more and thirst for more in deeper more profound ways. For me, I know I thirst for connection and many of those connections are our sisters and cousins for which we will know each other the longest in our lifetime. Longer than our parents or children if we are lucky in health. Hugging, touching and talking. That costs nothing except courage to open the door and say “hello” ✨ Reflecting after the holidays with great emotion watching our adult children and seeing our children who are cousins together it’s so moving.
