We talk a lot about making official written information more dementia-friendly. But what about more informal forms of writing? Special occasions cards, little reminder notes, shopping lists. Can we make those easier for people living with dementia to read and process? These are great tips! Would it be helpful to list items in the order that you’d find them in the shop? I rarely have my reading glasses with me when I go shopping, so I’ve started writing my shopping lists with a Sharpie pen. I try to keep my writing neat and spaced out so that I don’t misread what I’ve written.
