Multi-column layouts could be making your content harder to read! Columns may feel like the conventional choice for documents, but for people living with dementia, they can be confusing and overwhelming. What if we rethought conventions and put accessibility first? #DementiaFriendlyWriting #DementiaFriendly #Accessibility #AccessibleWriting #DementiaAccessibility #DementiaAwareness #Dementia #DementiaLivedExperience

We use the Environments for Ageing and Dementia Design Assessment Tool (EADDAT) from DSDC and one of my favourite parts is hearing the stories of what home is to the people living in our care homes. What I like about the assessment is it allows and encourages that personalisation while creating those enabling environments. Our own homes will be unique, designed by us and the people we live with, a place where you feel safe. It can be difficult to create a personalised community living space when supporting multiple unique individuals. When completing the assessment with those who live in the care home it becomes more, you learn more and create a community space that offers comfort, security, belonging and a feeling of home. #EnablingEnvironments #Belonging #Together
