Our Deepfakes & Democracy Initiative of EthicalTech@GW is examining the recent Tech Accord aimed at preventing deceptive AI content from interfering with elections, as well as Microsoft's efforts to tackle election deepfakes.

Big Tech has been actively addressing political deepfakes. Recently, Microsoft announced its participation in both 2024 U.S. national political conventions to tackle election deepfakes and to promote literacy training.
