🎙️ Introducing The Lighter Side of the Spectrum! 🎉 I’m thrilled to launch this new podcast, sharing real, sometimes lighthearted stories of life on the autism spectrum. In our first episode, I sit down with our producer and fellow autism parent, David Yas, to explore the ups and downs of this journey. And don’t miss our second episode, where my amazing son Stone joins me! New episodes will be out every Tuesday, each one blending personal stories, expert insights, and practical tips, along with a few special episodes here and there. We won’t shy away from the tougher topics, but we’ll keep the conversations grounded and thoughtful, aiming to capture both the challenges and the rewards of parenting on the spectrum. Catch The Lighter Side of the Spectrum on your favorite streaming platform. Listen in, and let’s create a space for honest conversations in the autism community. https://lnkd.in/gHDXV7u8 #autism #autismdad #autismparenting #inclusion #lighterside #nonspeaking #autismacceptance #autismawareness

I am wildly honoured to be the host of "Honest Conversations" A new podcast series exploring the priority areas of Canada's Autism Strategy. When our son was diagnosed with Autism in 2013, we quickly became advocates to support him, and his peers. I joined the Board of Autism Nova Scotia and began collaborating with Autism Alliance of Canada | Alliance canadienne de l'autisme. For over a decade, we have been calling for a #NationalAutismStrategy, and earlier this fall, the federal government launched Canada's Autism Strategy. The consensus among many has been, "it's a start, but the work is far from done." The five episode podcast series asks experts- including Autistic advocates, community leaders, researchers and caregivers - for their thoughts on the Strategy as it stands, what they were pleased to see, gaps they identified, and the biggest question; where do we go from here? Big thanks to Podstarter for making the magic happen. You can catch the trailer below! https://lnkd.in/e_q7k4te #Autism #Cdnpoli #Podcast #CanadaAutismStrategy
