Reflecting on 6.5 years at Viamo, I am deeply grateful for the incredible journey. From the early days of a startup to becoming part of a global team with a significant impact footprint, my time at Viamo spanned three countries and countless offices. These experiences shaped me both professionally and personally, from heartwarming office traditions to unforgettable team-building moments. To my colleagues: thank you for your inspiration and friendship. I will be cheering you on as you continue making an impact! Here are some key lessons I’ve learned from my time at Viamo: ✔️ Exceptional project and stakeholder management requires dedication and effort. I learned to navigate complex projects across departments and countries, ensuring alignment, building trust, and fostering collaboration to drive meaningful results. Becoming PMP certified supported in this learning.  ✔️ Emotional intelligence is at the heart of effective leadership. I developed a team-focused, emotionally intelligent approach that emphasized empathy, adaptability, and support—a legacy I hope will continue beyond my time with the company. ✔️ Change management demands structure and clear leadership. By chance, I led a change initiative that restructured departments and improved operational efficiency. Through this experience, I honed my ability to manage transitions, address resistance, and guide teams through organizational shifts, inspiring me to pursue my CCMP certification. ✔️ Advancing into leadership and strategy roles requires a broadened perspective. As a member of Viamo’s Leadership Cadre, I gained insights into analyzing company-wide data, translating it into actionable strategies for departments, setting strategic goals, and implementing processes that drove sustainable growth and impact. I’m thrilled to take these learnings into my next chapter as I join the UN World Food Programme as a Senior Digital Product Manager in the Management Services Division. This role offers the opportunity to lead digital transformation initiatives across a diverse range of service lines, including Accommodation, Mobility, and Environmental Sustainability. I look forward to leveraging my expertise in project management, change management, and digital strategy to streamline processes, foster data-driven decision-making, and enhance user experiences for WFP teams. In this new role, I am excited to contribute to projects that improve efficiency, enhance customer satisfaction, and support WFP’s global mission. Sit at the Front! Just last week, I was recognized during our team circle meeting as the most reliable team member and one of the fastest-growing project managers in the program. How did this happen? I chose to sit at the front, both literally and figuratively. I decided to put myself out there. For someone who’s always preferred to stay in the background, stepping into the spotlight is new territory for me. It’s intimidating, and honestly, half the time I’m worried that I don't fully know what I’m doing. But what I’ve realized is that by holding myself back, I limit my growth. By sitting at the front however, by showing up, volunteering, and engaging even when it feels uncomfortable, I open myself up to new opportunities, learning, and recognition. Putting yourself out there is not about having all the answers. It’s about showing up with the intention to learn, grow, and contribute. It’s about taking that seat at the front and allowing yourself to be seen and heard. When you take that step, you stretch beyond your comfort zone, and that’s where real growth happens. The rewards? More than just recognition or growth!It’s the confidence that builds each time you step forward. The fears and doubts start to fade because you’re proving to yourself that you’re capable. It’s never easy, but it’s always worth it. So, to anyone hesitating, wondering if they should step up or stay in the shadows, take that seat at the front! Which key projects or achievements do you consider most significant in your career?  I have spent my entire career in the CCM domain. Among the projects I’ve worked on, a couple stand out as particularly significant because I was involved from the very beginning. These projects were pivotal in helping me grow and gain extensive knowledge within the CCM area. The challenges I encountered along the way provided valuable learning opportunities, which have contributed to my professional development and can now be applied to similar situations.    What skills and knowledge do you plan to apply in your new position?  As a Tech Lead, I believe my development experience will be crucial in helping me quickly adapt to the new work environment. My ability to learn and understand complex concepts will enable me to suggest the best possible solutions.       What work methods help you achieve the best results?  I focus on doing the job to the best of my ability, drawing from my knowledge and experience.  What is your main motivator in your work?  Work should be both challenging and enjoyable. A positive work environment is essential for my motivation, and I believe that having fun while working is key to staying engaged.        Do you have any hobbies or interests? How do you spend your free time?  I’m passionate about photography and traveling. I often explore unfamiliar places and enjoy playing badminton. Additionally, I have a keen interest in sports, particularly cricket and Formula 1. I prefer staying active during weekends, whether it’s exploring new places or going for a walk.    As we wrap up this conversation with Varun, we are thrilled about the fresh perspectives and enthusiasm he brings to our team. Spent the last 6 months living in Brasil 🇧🇷 and came back w/ 3 life-changing realizations: 1️⃣ Success is sequential. Not simultaneous. - Asked myself some difficult questions - Removed myself from the equation - Thought more objectively - Focused on purpose and priority 🔸The Result - Better time management - Less stress - Focused attention - Higher sales / closed deals 2️⃣ Resting renews creativity - Spent less time working 7 days/week - Comia muito churrasco e batia muito papo - Said “YES” to going out with friends - Closed my laptop when my brain was fried 🔸The Result - More effective outcomes - Stronger operational systems - Better quality of life 3️⃣ Asking for help will take you farther - Used AI to practice giving direct instructions - Hired an amazing EA + Chief Mom Officer - Admitted I don’t know what I don’t know - Put my ego aside 🔸 The Result - 10 hours/week saved - Stronger project management systems - More focused work sprints - Boost in confidence Sometimes you just need to get away to rearrange your brain. And now that I’m back, my level of focus & my convinction to win are stronger than ever.
