Today is World Mental Health Day 🌍 This global day of awareness reminds us all of the importance of mental health, both in and out of the workplace, and Planisware would like to dedicate today to emphasizing the significance of each and every employee’s well-being. Mental health affects every aspect of our lives—from how we handle stress, to our ability to focus at work, to how we connect with family and friends. Despite its critical role, mental health is often overlooked, and we may forget to take the steps necessary to nurture it. Maintaining good mental health involves adopting healthy habits such as getting regular physical activity, practicing mindfulness, staying connected with others, and making time for relaxation. Taking intentional steps like these to care for ourselves can have a significant impact on our overall wellbeing and the way we show up in the world. Here at Planisware, we are committed to fostering an environment where all employees feel supported and empowered, and we will continue to stand together to raise awareness, encourage seeking support when needed, and reduce stigma surrounding mental health. Together, we can create a world where mental well-being is a priority for everyone, every day!

🌍 World Mental Health Day is a reminder of something I think we all know deep down—mental well-being isn't just something we manage alone. It's tied to the connections we make, the sense of belonging we feel, and the support systems we build around us. It’s easy to lose sight of how much we actually need one another. Whether at work or in our personal lives, mental wellness starts with connection. 🧠 Connection matters. When we feel seen, heard, and valued, we belong. With ourselves and with one another. And that sense of belonging makes us more resilient, more able to show up in hard moments. 💪 Wellness is foundational. It is not a luxury—it's a foundation. It’s the starting point for how we show up in every aspect of our lives. A strong foundation of mental and emotional well-being sets the stage for creativity, problem-solving, and meaningful collaboration. 🤝 Support is everything. Whether it’s a trusted colleague, a family member, or a professional coach or therapist, having someone to turn to can be the difference between just getting by and truly thriving. This World Mental Health Day, I’m reflecting on how we show up for each other and how we can make sure we’re building communities where everyone feels supported, connected, and like they belong. Remember you are not alone, and we are stronger together. If you are looking to have a breakthrough in any of these areas, reach out, I got you.

It is sometimes easy to forget mental wellness when we consider mental health, where mental illness might draw the focus. We also might often forget that if we’re feeling generally well, we should still consider how we can support our holistic wellbeing, and look after ourselves more now, so we can better weather any storms that lie ahead. Consultant psychiatrist Dr Robert Harland talks us through the Five Steps to Wellness approach that everyone, regardless of their situation, can employ to enhance mental wellbeing. Clinical psychologists Ilse du Preez and Dr Veronica Ranieri PhD DClinPsy CPsychol also talk on the bread and butter of integrated physical and mental health - from being in nature, to making sure you’re getting enough sleep, and developing our own mental health thermostat. Consultant psychiatrist Dr Chun Chiang Sin Fai Lam finishes by reminding us that the medical model isn’t the only one out there, and there are networks and frameworks outside of the formal mental health system that could also bring you great comfort. #MentalHealthMatters #Wellness #MentalHealthUK

A note from our founder, Jessica, on World Mental Health Day… At Bounce, we believe that mental health is as vital as physical health because it’s deeply connected to every part of who we are. We all face mental health challenges, whether in ourselves or the people we care about, and it’s important to acknowledge that. Ignoring feelings only makes them harder to manage. World Mental Health Day is an important time to pause and reflect on how we can better prioritise mental wellbeing - not just in our personal lives, but in our workplaces too. For me, it’s about creating environments where people feel genuinely heard, supported and safe enough to speak up. As leaders, we have a responsibility to set that tone and show that it's okay for people to prioritise themselves. I also know firsthand how lonely leadership can feel. The pressure can be overwhelming and sometimes it feels like no one gets it. That’s why I want to extend an open invitation: if you ever need a space to vent or just someone to listen, I’m here. You can reach out to me directly on LinkedIn or at [email protected]. And remember, today and every day, take time for yourself. Even the smallest moments of self-care can make a world of difference.

🌍 The 10th October is World Mental Health Day, and the theme set by the World Federation for Mental Health this year is “It is time to prioritise mental health in the workplace“. 💼 1 in 6 people experience mental health problems in the workplace, so when most of us spend significant amounts of our lives at work, it shows how extremely important it is that we prioritise workplace mental health. 😁 Not only this, but on average, happy employees are 13% more productive. So on World Mental Health Day 2024 and going forward, lets prioritise our mental health in the workplace. Take breaks from your desk to get a cup of tea or coffee, check in on your colleague and take a bit of time at the end of the week to reflect on how you've been feeling at work, and what might have caused you stress or discomfort. Let us know how you are going to make someone’s day just a little bit better, or how someone else has made your day! 👇
