This alarming statistic highlights a profound disconnect between the school curriculum and the demands of the modern job market. Through our work experience programme, we've seen firsthand the transformative impact of employers and educators working together to help equip young people for the challenges of tomorrow's world of work. The Labour Party's commitment to recruit 1,000 new career advisers in schools is a promising step towards closing this gap by providing much-needed capacity to deepen educator and employer links. Our research has made us alive to the risks facing young people not in education, employment or training. But we know what works: > the more holistic, integrated and structured approaches are the most effective in helping young people to enter the workplace > work placements with *sustained post-placement support* are key to facilitating the labour market entry of young people.
