Celebrating success in 2024: Thank you for being part of the journey. 🥳 As 2024 comes to a close, we’re proud to reflect on a year of growth and achievement at JSA. None of it would have been possible without the incredible support of our stakeholders, who share our vision of helping Australia meet its present and future skills needs. Some of our highlights include: Hosting engaging webinars like Strong and Responsive VET Pathways and Towards a Regional, Rural, and Remote Workforce. Hearing directly from you during our consultations. You informed our work by sharing your own experiences and evidence. Traveling around the country during the 2024 Roadshow to meet many of you in person. The release of the Jobs and Skills Atlas in August, the Early Childhood Education and Care capacity study in September and the annual Occupation Shortage List in October were just some of our standout moments. Delivering trusted updates like the Internet Vacancy Index and Labour Market Updates, our core commitment to data-driven workforce solutions. From all of us at JSA, thank you for making 2024 an impactful and rewarding year. We wish you a joyful and restful holiday season and look forward to working together in 2025! Interesting insight from the latest OSR report: Larger companies, attracting more applicants, appear to set stricter hiring standards, leading to higher suitability gaps. In contrast, small businesses, with fewer candidates, show more flexibility in hiring. 🤓 https://lnkd.in/gRQjs64g #Skills #JobsAndSkillsAustralia #OccupationShortage #FillRates #HiringTrends #Occupations

As part of our recent national Jobs and Skills Roadshow, we took the opportunity to meet with key stakeholders around the country on tertiary harmonisation. We’re working to identify both the opportunities and barriers to the higher education and VET sectors working together in making it easier for students to obtain the skills and knowledge that they need. A harmonised system has to work for all. Public and private providers alike have an important role to play in making the system work efficiently and effectively. In addition to our broad consultation, the Education and Training Reference Group provides advice about tertiary matters.
