There's a huge problem with Chat-GPT and LLMs: while they're great at skimming the surface of customer feedback, they fall short when they try to turn words into numbers and reliable actions. And when senior stakeholders need a data-driven trustworthy CX roadmap that's a big problem. And look this isn't me just saying this, go and ask Chat-GPT like I did. It came up with 6 reasons as to why it does a bad job analysing feedback. 𝐀 𝐟𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐫 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞: You’re preparing for a big presentation, tasked with turning a mountain of customer feedback into something digestible for the exec team. Chat-GPT seems like the perfect tool to do this quickly. But as you dig into the output, things start to unravel… 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐮𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐝𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐚𝐝𝐝 𝐮𝐩 Chat-GPT wasn't designed to count reliably. It’s a language model, not a data analyst, so key themes or repeated issues can be missed. Suddenly, the numbers you have don’t look so trustworthy. 𝐒𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐲𝐬𝐢𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧'𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 Sarcasm, tone, and subtle complaints are missed by Chat-GPT. What it flags as "positive" might be far from it, leading to a misrepresentation of customer's feelings about a topic. 𝐈𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐚 𝐩𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲: AI can process data quickly, but it takes human intuition alongside advanced linguistics to turn customer feedback into actionable insights.
