How has coworking impacted the place you’re at and the community around you? To know that, Pauline has been traveling for 9 years. Visited 64 cities. Over 500 coworking spaces. And 2,000 people. Because, when you want answers, you need to go find them. Talk to coworking owners. About their situation. Why they decided, one crazy day, to start a coworking space. How it has evolved. What changed it brought. And from all those stories, you can start a blueprint. A roadmap. Of what is really coworking. We LOVE seeing companies creating their coworking brand. Why? Often, the reason for a company to start its own coworking space and invest in the model is to solve a challenge they are facing or create opportunities for its brands through community-building. If such an example is of interest to you, then you'll adore today's feature. Meet WOW - Work On Wood by Finsa, a coworking brand started by Spanish Wood Manufacturer Finsa. We virtually sat down with Jose Andres Arias Pampin, Host and Manager of the space, to discuss why Finsa started their own coworking space in Porto (although they come from Northern Spain), what kind of challenges they met and ways they found to solve them. Start swiping for a glimpse of our conversation and make your way to the comment of this post for the full interview. Jose and the WOW team, thanks for all you do in Porto and beyond to allow the local community to find a place where they can belong at work. #coworkingspace #porto cc Câmara Municipal do Porto

The Rural Coworking Project of the #ECA is an all-volunteer team. So why a Coworking Project? More people are moving to the countryside in Europe. However, new people moving to rural areas do not magically solve structural problems. The Coworking movement offers the possibility of a truly local approach guided by the needs of your community, with international reach and impact. The concept of poverty to many is unilateral i.e. financial alone, but it has many faces one of its many faces is that of energy. I remember my undergrads days, how that I’d trek miles from one printing shop to another, from one restaurant to another just to get electricity and still won’t be able to use It because of a bad working condition. This isn’t just my story, it's the reality for millions lacking energy access. Thanks to individuals and corporate organization like L'Orbe taking the bull of change by the horn to make things happen. However, This initiative by L’orbe is beyond a workspace and an opportunity for creatives to work, it’s about climate change especially with their use of renewable energy sources and I’d explain in few bullet point to show you how this is contributing positively to the livelihood of the community and how it collectively impacts us at large. 1. Addressing energy poverty. Hearing energy poverty for the first time? I’d explain. World Economic Forum defined energy poverty as the lack of access to sustainable modern energy services and products. To be more precise, it is not only a matter of sustainability: energy poverty can be found in all conditions where there is a lack of adequate, affordable, reliable, quality, safe and environmentally sound energy services to support development. Also, research on multidimensional energy poverty in Nigeria shows that the energy poverty index in the country is 0.38, which means that more than half of the households in the country are energy poor. The major drivers of energy poverty in Nigeria are the surge in energy demand, insufficient energy supply and low income (premium times) Universities, breeding grounds for innovation, shouldn't be stifled by unreliable power. This initiative recognizes that and provides a haven for creatives, ensuring they have the consistent, clean energy needed to hone their skills and bring their ideas to life. 2. The fight against energy poverty goes hand-in-hand with the fight against climate change. By transitioning to renewable energy sources, this initiative is actively reducing greenhouse gas emissions. This aligns perfectly with national policies striving for net-zero carbon emissions, paving the way for a cleaner future for all. And by the side I think special loan and funding options for companies contributing positively to climate should be available, this would serve as a nudge for other to follow suit. *check the comment section

That's exactly what we discussed with Jino Dollini, CEO of Terminal Co-Working space, one of the first coworking brands in Georgia. **Improving Housing in the Balearic Islands and Spain with Rural Coliving** At Coliving Investment Trust (CIT), we are dedicated to addressing the crisis of rental prices and adequate housing in the Balearic Islands and throughout Spain. We have developed three coliving models: Rural, Urban, and Senior, to tailor our solutions to different needs. Today, we highlight our Rural model, which revitalises less urbansed areas with appealing housing options in natural settings. An example is El Refugio Rural Coworking & Coliving that we managed, but there are plenty of other successful examples such as: OPEN·ORBI , Anceu Coliving, ROORAL, FEM - Rural Coliving & Coworking and Sende among others. They all offer comfortable rooms and shared spaces designed for community and collaborative work, enriching rural life with modern amenities. We’ve attached a PDF with more details about our Rural coliving model. Discover how CIT is willing to transform housing in Spain and join us in this mission. Together, we can make a difference! #RealEstate #RealEstateInvestment #Investment #RealEstateDevelopment #ColivingInvestment #ColivingDevelopment #Coliving #RuralCommunity #RuralColiving #Community (Presentation and design by our collaborator María Álvarez Varela)
