Did you know this year’s Black Friday is projected to produce 429,000 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions from deliveries alone? That’s equivalent to 435 return flights from London to New York. I'm practicing Green Friday this year – the idea isn’t to avoid shopping altogether but to shop thoughtfully, choosing brands and practices that prioritise sustainability. If you’re looking to make your Black Friday a little greener, here are some great options to consider: 📦 Amazon enables customers to filter products through its Climate Pledge Friendly label and its Guided Buying feature, a permanent option to prioritise climate-friendly products. 📱 Apple skips traditional Black Friday sales, but starting today, they’re offering a gift card of up to £160 with the purchase of some of their older products. 🏠 Google displays precise energy labels for home appliances, making it easier to choose energy-efficient products. 🛋️ IKEA only offers discounts on pre-loved furniture, giving an extra 20% off as part of their Buyback Scheme.
