Being the best husband and father I can be means showing up for my family every day. I bring that same commitment to leading my teams. It’s about: → Slowing down to appreciate the hard work everyone puts in. → Believing in them daily and letting them know they matter. → Giving them a voice and making sure they feel heard. → Creating a safe space to fail so they can learn and grow. → Challenging them constructively without putting them down. → Doing small acts of kindness to show they’re valued. The same principles that make a strong family build a strong team. Simple acts have a big impact.

Effective teamwork often provides many benefits to the entire team and the organization. An effective team may work together to facilitate idea generation and creativity, approaching problems with unique solutions. Team members might feel empowered to take innovative approaches when developing solutions. They can learn new skills, methods and knowledge from one another when working in effective teams. Teamwork often improves productivity and contributes to improved business results. By working in effective teams, employees may experience an increased sense of motivation. They can recognize their contributions and feel a level of responsibility for a company's success. Successful teams help relieve the stress that individuals might feel when working alone or as part of an ineffective group.
A successful team is a group of many hands and one mind ..

What would my team do without me? Seems like a lot actually.. I’ve been clocked in almost every day for years (hustle grind, bro!) Then recently, a travel opportunity came up. I thought “hmm, this would be a great chance to see how the team steps up”. So I let them know I would not be around to help and they had to run the business without me (even though I still sometimes was lol) My Team Captain has been with me for over 2 years now. I told her she had the final say now. I encouraged her to receive input from the team on all decisions. Could they do it without me? Sure enough, they surprised me. No, not in a bad way. I kinda knew they could though, these aren’t your normal “VA’s”. They are dedicated to the success of the business, and I have been by their side guiding their decision making since they joined the team. They kept the ship running smooth and made the same decisions as I would have. On a team, I think it's easy to defer decisions to the leader - like a mental shortcut. But when I wasn’t there, they had nobody to defer decisions to! When they had the final say, my team treated the decisions with great value. Of course there were some fires that needed to be put out. But needless to say, I was impressed with my team. So this means I don’t have to be there?? Well, that’s not the conclusion I drew. Instead, I learned to focus on the higher level tasks. Not so bogged down with the day to day. I had hired great people, and just had to get out of their way. They do their best in the day to day, while I am more strategically focused. So go ahead, give your team more rope. See what they can do. They might impress you too 😄

training to detect saboteurs, part of the job ;-)
Sabotage at CRANIUM? 🥷🏻 Oh yes, you read that correctly. Last week, we unmasked some "saboteurs"during our teambuilding event with part of the team. 🫨 Several colleagues were secretly tasked with the mission to undermine and derail our assignments. We had loads of fun completing the different challenges and were surprised by the deceptive talents of some of our closest coworkers. Fortunately, it was all for the game and we ended with a yummy BBQ and lots of laughs. Can you guess who our "traitors" were? (Hint: some were pointed at 🥸).
