The Commission for Nurse Reimbursement (CNR) is proud to be dedicated to advancing the modernization of nursing economic and reimbursement structures. We firmly believe that nursing is not a partisan issue. #Nurses are the backbone of our healthcare system, providing care for people across the political spectrum from all cultural backgrounds. Their commitment to patient well-being transcends any political affiliation. As we have gained momentum and exposure on the issue of #nursing reimbursement, we've spoken to many legislators and their staff about the issue and potential models. A few notable conversations we've had include (images below): Dr. Bethany Hall-Long, Dale Folwell, MedPAC, Blake Moore, Clara Adams-Enders, Bernie Sanders, HELP Committee, Mitt Romney, and Gale Adcock. Our work at CNR focuses on: 1. Robust Reimbursement Structures: Creating a reimbursement model that unbundles nurses from the room rate and creates an economic reimbursement model in parity with all other healthcare professionals. 2. Economic Stability: Building a sustainable economic model for nursing that supports recruitment, retention, and professional growth. 3. Modernization: Adapting reimbursement structures to reflect the evolving role of nurses in delivering comprehensive healthcare. We invite nurses, healthcare leaders, policymakers, and the public to join us by volunteering in this non-partisan effort to strengthen the nursing profession and improve patient care. Together, we can build a more equitable and sustainable future for nursing. #healthcareonlinkedin #nursingonlinkedin Rebecca Love RN, MSN, FIEL Sharon Pearce
"we firmly believe that nursing is not a partisan issue" 🤔 did somebody say it was? also too what does nurses' "commitment to patient well-being transcends any political affiliation" even mean? fwiw a prominent and politically active crna posted selfies from the rally in Tulsa where Herman Cain caught COVID and died - smiling next to a chief seditionist and of course no masks a crna gets really close to patients "most trusted profession" your words are empty your efforts a shameless joke pure clout seeking and damn any facts
The things that we accomplish will be through broad and wide conversations to unite our elected leaders behind the nursing profession - to finally create a reimbursement model for nursing that no longer has nurses as a cost - and recognizes the need for parity for nursing with all other healthcare professionals.
Thank you all in working hard for nursing reimbursement!! It has been sorely needed for a very, very long time. It just baffles me how the C-Suite of healthcare still has not just implemented this to resolve the nursing hospital employment crisis. It seems like a simple solution to a big problem and broken system.
Fantastic update! Nursing reimbursement is crucial in healthcare as it ensures that nurses are fairly compensated for their essential services. The Commission for Nurse Reimbursement (CNR) focuses on creating robust reimbursement structures, building economic stability, and modernizing reimbursement models to reflect the evolving role of nurses. This effort supports recruitment, retention, and professional growth, ultimately improving patient care and the sustainability of the healthcare system. Agreed with Michelle, all nursing professions must unite!
This is so exciting to read and I really hope this works continue to gain interest momentum. I’ve been in the profession for almost 40 years and have always thought that the care and work we provide and do should be compensated just as other members of healthcare professionals provide. To be considered as part of room charges is discouraging to our profession, dedication and commitment to continued education.

6moRegistered Nurses are the only degreed and licensed healthcare professionals delivering care that do not bill for their services. In hospitals alone, nearly a half trillion dollars of nursing care is embedded in daily room rates and facility charges. Time to modernize our 90 year outdated healthcare finance system.
