🌟 Advocating for Change in Nursing Reimbursement 🌟 The role of #nurses has never been more critical than it is today. Nurses are at the heart of patient care, providing medical attention and emotional support to those in need. Yet, despite their invaluable contributions, the #nursing profession faces significant challenges that affect care delivery, including issues related to reimbursement, working conditions, #burnout, and access to resources. We are dedicated to addressing these challenges head-on. We believe that through advocacy, policy reform, and community engagement, we can create a healthcare landscape that truly values and supports our nurses. 🔹 Why Advocacy Matters Now More Than Ever The current healthcare system often overlooks nurses' vital contributions, leading to burnout, staffing shortages, and decreased patient care quality. nursing is not a “partisan issue” is a cop out in a time where reproductive rights are being ripped apart, maternal mortality rates continue to accelerate, private equity “rescuing” healthcare systems only to eliminate services & bankrupt them months later, insurance companies completely destabilizing healthcare access with inpunity, healthcare systems leaving care settings vulnerable to cyber attacks & all of this disproportionately impacting minoritized communities. nursing might not be “partisan,” but it should be rooted in JUSTICE. not tiptoeing around what our patients actually need & deserve. let’s be honest about what our “priorities” are y’all.
The Commission for Nurse Reimbursement (CNR) is proud to be dedicated to advancing the modernization of nursing economic and reimbursement structures. We firmly believe that nursing is not a partisan issue. #Nurses are the backbone of our healthcare system, providing care for people across the political spectrum from all cultural backgrounds. Their commitment to patient well-being transcends any political affiliation. As we have gained momentum and exposure on the issue of #nursing reimbursement, we've spoken to many legislators and their staff about the issue and potential models. A few notable conversations we've had include (images below): Dr. Bethany Hall-Long, Dale Folwell, MedPAC, Blake Moore, Clara Adams-Enders, Bernie Sanders, HELP Committee, Mitt Romney, and Gale Adcock. Our work at CNR focuses on: 1. Robust Reimbursement Structures: Creating a reimbursement model that unbundles nurses from the room rate and creates an economic reimbursement model in parity with all other healthcare professionals. 2. Economic Stability: Building a sustainable economic model for nursing that supports recruitment, retention, and professional growth. 3. Modernization: Adapting reimbursement structures to reflect the evolving role of nurses in delivering comprehensive healthcare. We invite nurses, healthcare leaders, policymakers, and the public to join us by volunteering in this non-partisan effort to strengthen the nursing profession and improve patient care. Together, we can build a more equitable and sustainable future for nursing. #healthcareonlinkedin #nursingonlinkedin Rebecca Love RN, MSN, FIEL Sharon Pearce

Nurse Retention Bonuses in NB-Nurses working in Home Care and Special Care Homes across New Brunswick play a crucial role in providing high-quality healthcare to some of our most vulnerable populations. These dedicated professionals deliver compassionate and personalized care to individuals who may be elderly, disabled, or living with chronic health conditions, often in their own homes or in specialized residential settings. Their work goes beyond standard medical care; they foster emotional support, promote independence, and enhance the quality of life for their patients. Moreover, the challenges these nurses face can be significant. They navigate complex healthcare needs, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and often work in isolation, all while managing the fluctuations of patient care demands. The dedication and resilience demonstrated by these nurses are vital in addressing the diverse needs of patients in a community setting, where adequate healthcare resources may be scarce. As frontline caregivers, their contributions are indispensable, particularly in a landscape where healthcare systems are under increasing pressure. Given their significant value, it is only fitting that these nurses receive a retention bonus. Such financial recognition not only acknowledges their hard work and commitment but also serves as an incentive to retain experienced staff in a field that often faces high turnover rates. By investing in their retention, we are not just supporting our nurses; we are reinforcing the entire healthcare system in New Brunswick. Ultimately, ensuring that these professionals feel valued and supported in their vital roles will lead to better patient outcomes, stronger community health, and a more sustainable healthcare workforce for the future. https://lnkd.in/eGCHSzWT
