👉 Great sailing ships return to the Baltic Sea ===================> One month from now, on 27 June 2024, the next edition of the regatta involving the largest sailing ships in the world - The Tall Ships Races - will begin. After 7 years, the "Birds of the Ocean" are returning to the Baltic to sail across almost our entire sea. ⚓ The route leads from #Klaipeda to #Helsinki, from there to #Tallinn, then #Turku, #Mariehamn in the #Åland Islands and the longest leg with the grand finale in #Szczecin, which will take place on 2-5 August 2024. ⚓ Although the full list of entered vessels has not yet been announced, it is difficult to expect that the two great Russian sailing ships - "Kruzenshtern" and "Sedov" - which have always been the highlight of this regatta, to take part in this year's event. ⚓ This will be the 5-th time that The Tall Ships Races finale has taken place in Szczecin. Previously, we hosted the event's finale in 2007, 2013, 2015 and 2017. The next final was due to fall in 2021, but was moved to this year due to Covid. ⚓ It is noteworthy that all finals in Szczecin had the highest attendance of all ports at the same time - the last final, in 2017, was attended by around 2 million visitors! The harbour in Szczecin is almost made for such events - the picturesque Wały Chrobrego and Łasztownia Island create a unique, nautical atmosphere. #TallShipsRaces #BalticSea #Poland #Scandinavia https://lnkd.in/e9fu6qG6 👇 The Tall Ships Races 2013 - final in Szczecin

📢 Call for Action! – European Commission consulting on recognising Boating licenses across Europe ⛵ The European Union is currently doing a study to analyse the advantages of recognising boater licenses EU-wide. 𝗕𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗦𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗥𝗮𝗳𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 Rafting tourism peaks in the summer months of April, May, and June when the water is warm and currents are smooth. September and October are more suitable for professional rafters, as the conditions may be more challenging. Beginner rafters are strongly advised to undergo sufficient training before attempting rafting, and those who cannot swim should avoid competitive rafting. #rafting #raftingtrip #raftingbandung #raftingpangalengan #raftingday #raftingtime #raftingcileunca #raftingindonesia #raftingpangalenganbandung #raftingsitucileunca #raftingelo #raftingketambe #raftingmagelang #raftingprogo #raftingadventure

🚤 🚣♂️ ⛵ Traficom organised a Nordic meeting of authorities related to boating in Rovaniemi, Finland on 1-2 October. The common agenda was to promote boating safety. ⚓ However, the topic is even more important in Finland, where unfortunately we have the highest number of fatalities in waterborne accidents in the Nordic countries - last year 34 people died on Finnish waters. The key question was how to reduce the number of waterborne accidents without increasing regulation. The focus was on each boater's own attitude, and with it the possibility to influence their behaviour on the water. The challenge in every Nordic country is how to get experienced boaters to wear life jackets. Why is wearing a lifejacket perceived as a symbol of incompetence when it is actually a sign of a smart boater? 👍 👏 Thanks for the fruitful discussions with our colleagues from the Swedish Transport Agency, Norwegian Maritime Authority, Danish Maritime Authority and the Icelandic Transport Authority. From May 17th to 19th the first exchange visit with #Omnis #Europeanproject took place! Ten people from #Italy and #Croatia participated to test the #accessibility and #attractiveness of the itineraries which will represent one of the outcomes of the project. Among the activities, the group went on a #guidedtour of Split city centre, had an olive oil tasting, participated in a workshop to create the traditional local hat, visited the Alka Museum of Sinj. The exchange proved to be very useful in order to understand the needs and the opinions of the targets, being visually impaired people and people travelling with their dog. 📝 At the end of the trip a #satisfactionquestionnaire was proposed to find out what worked out well and what should be improved. 💡 This enabled the project partners to learn a lot of interesting things that will make #futureexperiences even better. Click the link below to find out more about the trip and its outcomes and #share to make the results available to other stakeholders! #Europe #Interreg #fundedbyEuropeanUnion #transnationalcooperation https://lnkd.in/d-SgkNh9
