Normal recruiters hire to fill a position. Great recruiters pave the way for a long term collaboration. This is why understanding what the candidate is after from the 1st screening interview is so crucial. You should not just ask "Why do you want to leave your current company?" You should aim at understanding what gets them out of bed in the morning. This will enable: ✅ To sell the role in a compelling manner, ✅ To prepare a pre-onboarding that will engage them ✅ To onboard them with success for both parties in mind ✅ To tailor the role and projects to their career objectives ✅ And ensure you are hiring collaborators vs. employees. Not even TOP BILLING recruiters are safe! 💣 As a top-billing recruiter, you might think your position is secure, but you can never be certain, which is the unsettling part of working for someone else's recruitment agency. If you're a 360 recruiter, hunting your own business, finding your own candidates, and making the placements, there is no more secure and stable position than working for yourself. So, what's stopping you from starting your own agency? My 1st recruitment podcast and hopefully many more to come 🥳 since I have actually spent over a decade in recruitment, helping recruiters and managers navigate the highs and lows of the hiring process. Konstanty decided to start the podcast with quite an awkward question one which, however, needs to be addressed to break down the myths, the mistakes, and the mindset behind recruitment 😳 I couldn't be happier to have worked with global giants like SThree and PageGroup, as well as smaller recruitment consultancies, Code Red Partners, Captato - Partner in Recruiting and wernaer GmbH, Delivering training to recruiters across the globe from the UK to the Middle East, Australia and the US, which has armed me with a world of insight as to why recruiters struggle and more importantly what to do about it. 🤔 Have a listen and visit the School of Hiring podcast on all major platforms to enjoy the full episode (link in the comments) where I break down: ➡️ The myths and mistakes that lead to hiring mishaps ➡️ Where the disconnect between managers and recruiters happens ➡️ Practical steps both parties can take to bridge that gap and hire better, together. Whether you're a recruiter trying to refine your craft, or a manager looking to get better results, this episode has something for you! 🎯 Thanks Konstanty for having me and our insightful conversation! #recruitment #recruitmenttraining

How do you people who interview well, do not turn out to be bad hires? 🤔 There are many answers to this question, with many hiring managers having their own equation to what works. There is no Right or Wrong here due to the moving parts associated with start up tech hiring, food for thought nonetheless.🍉 Strong questions to ask 💪 ✅Tell me about a time you missed your target, what did you do to bounce back? ✅How do you handle prospecting in a tough market? ✅What skills are you currently working on to improve? ✅What is the last book or podcast you used to improve your skillset? ✅How do you motivate yourself after you lose? Understand that you will never get to a point of 0% risk when hiring someone, but you can do your best to reduce that risk to as low as possible. And remember, having a “jumpy” resume from 2020 to 2024 does not imply they will be bad hires, it has been an interesting 4 years for software companies, give more people an opportunity to speak their truth, particularly if they showed consistency prior to 2020. 🏢 What else would you add to this? 🌤️

Sometimes the best jobs are hiding in plain sight. These are the positions that employers don't post on job boards like the one we run at Mac's List. Instead, hiring managers rely on referrals from employees, colleagues or other trusted sources to find candidates for these so-called hidden jobs. Nobody knows for certain how many jobs don't get advertised. Estimates vary widely. But whatever its size, every job seeker can learn how to navigate the hidden job market. Reda El Maazi, a recruiter, career coach, and host of the "Everything Recruitment" podcast, recently invited me on his show to talk about why the hidden job market exists and how you can find and get these unadvertised positions. Our conversation went live today and you can listen to our interview on the "Everything Recruitment" show where ever you get your podcasts or in the link in the comments below. #hiddenjobs #jobsearchtips #macslist
