Release 6.80.0 is a major update to our Svelte integration, with the introduction of a host of new components, plus a surface provider, making it easier than ever before to rapidly build visual connectivity apps. We've included a dedicated `SurfaceProvider` component which populates a Svelte context, and which you can use when you need to supply a surface reference to some other component, such as a PaletteComponent or InspectorComponent. The `SurfaceComponent` itself also acts as a `SurfaceProvider`, meaning you can nest other components inside of it. 🚀 New updates from Expo documentation (week 26 Aug - 1 Sep) ⌨️ Check out the new Keyboard handling guide, which explains how to handle common and complex keyboard interactions on Android and iOS devices: https://lnkd.in/gE3FYUbV 🌐 Modal routes in Expo Router are a great fit for implementing complex interactions that need to be part of the app's navigation. One example is multi-step forms. We've updated the Modal guide to provide detailed comparisons and use cases for using the React Native Modal component vs. Expo Router Modal: https://lnkd.in/gFhMPviJ 💅 Updated Assets guide now features an improved structure to load assets, whether via a config plugin or the `useAssets` hook: https://lnkd.in/gmu-xqR9 🤖 Android FCM Credentials guide provides information on creating or re-using Google Service Account keys using FCM v1 and Expo push notification service. We recently updated the guide to account for any recent changes with the Firebase console: https://lnkd.in/gRDt62u3 🧪 Updated DOM Components Guide to clarify that using 'use dom' directive behaves the same as 'use client` in projects using React Server Components (RSC): https://lnkd.in/gBViQdCU 🙏 Thanks to all the contributors and community members for improvements this week!

🚀 Key Questions for a Successful Bluetooth Integration Before starting a Bluetooth SDK integration with a team, I like to tackle these essential questions to ensure a smooth and effective process: 1. User Experience: How can we ensure the app and device interactions meet user expectations, such as connection stability and data handling? 2. Hardware Development Lifecycle: Are we working with new or existing hardware, and how should we adapt our approach to accommodate design opportunities or constraints accordingly? 3. Application Architecture: How can we design the app to handle asynchronous BLE communication effectively (and keep it extensible, testable, and decoupled from mobile Bluetooth APIs)? This includes the discussion of going native vs hybrid. 4. Monitoring and Debugging: What tools/approaches can we take to monitor and debug both the application and hardware? The outcomes of these discussions set the foundation for an integration that is user-friendly, debuggable, and adaptable to device and app changes.
