Me: "No worries guys! How hard can it be?" Them: 🤦 Let me explain how hard it can be with this little (but very helpful) feature in the HowdyGo chrome extension that changes the size of your browser window. You'd think this would be simple, but what if you want to capture a resolution that's bigger than your actual screen size? We can't just make the browser window expand beyond your monitor, that'd be a nightmare! You'd end up with unclickable parts of your app. Instead, we let you set any size you want, but automatically calculate and adjust the zoom of your browser required to fit the resolution you want on your screen. This means, you can capture a demo in literally any resolution you want, regardless of how small your laptop screen is. This matters a lot when you're collaborating on demos and you want to make them all have a matching size, or you want a 1920x1080p video export but you're on a Chromebook because your startup is too cheap to get you a real laptop. This is practically impossible to achieve with a traditional screen recorder, but because HowdyGo demos capture your actual app in HTML & CSS we can do it 💁♂️
