Did you know ServeHAITI has the Candid Platinum Seal of Transparency? Candid’s data tools on nonprofits, foundations, and grants are the most comprehensive in the world. Only 5% of the more than 1.7 million nonprofits registered with the IRS earned a Candid seal of transparency. Candid considers transparency of information that the nonprofit shares with the general public using several metrics – finances, goals, program information, strategies, capabilities, achievements, progress indicators, people involved, and the difference the nonprofit is making – in order for a nonprofit to earn a seal of transparency. GuideStar Seals of Transparency was introduced in 2013 to provide visible recognition when a nonprofit shares information on GuideStar. It provides as much information as it can about each nonprofit's mission, legitimacy, impact, reputation, finances, programs, transparency, governance, and so much more. More than 75,000 organizations have earned Seals, making the GuideStar Seal the most widely adopted symbol of transparency in the U.S. social sector. The type of information a nonprofit provides determines which Seal it earns. The levels are: - Bronze - basic information so your organization can be found - Silver - program information and brand details - Gold - financials and people information - Platinum - goals and the difference you’re making Around 15% of all nonprofit organizations in the United States are awarded the Platinum Seal of Transparency, and ServeHAITI is honored to be one of them! By clicking on the Candid Transparency Image at www.servehaiti.org you can see summary of ServeHAITI’s mission, our programs and results, financial information and operations for example officers, directors, trustees, and key employees. Mississippi nonprofits, make your voice heard! Thanks to funding from the Fidelity Charitable® Catalyst Fund, the Alliance is working with the Urban Institute to inform the development of a publicly available data tool with nonprofit insights that will be relevant to you and your community. If your organization receives the National Survey of Nonprofit Trends and Impacts 2024, we strongly encourage you to participate. Your input is vital in sharing the real-world experiences of nonprofits across the state, particularly in areas like programs, workforce, finances, and government engagement. The nonprofit sector in Mississippi plays a critical role in our communities, and the more nonprofit leaders who contribute to this survey, the stronger our collective voice will be. By sharing your insights, you help ensure that funders, policymakers, the media, and the public understand the challenges and successes of nonprofits in our state. You can help by spreading the word about the survey to nonprofit leaders so they know to take it if they receive it and telling your nonprofit’s story by completing the survey if you receive it. Want to learn more? Check out the survey publications that tell the nonprofit sector’s story, including three just-released papers on nonprofit engagement with government. You can also sign up to receive future publications, including findings from this year’s survey. https://lnkd.in/g3XBMxab Let’s come together to tell Mississippi's story. Your participation makes a difference! #nonprofitstories #Mississippi #survey #tellyourstory #nonprofit #Philanthropy #alliancems

#Nonprofits, Let’s Talk About #Funding and #FairPay for #Clinicians Nonprofits are built on a mission of #service, #care, and #communityimpact. But here’s the issue: many nonprofits receive funding precisely because they promise to have #licensedprofessionals on-site, yet all too often, that funding doesn’t reach the hands of those professionals themselves. Instead, these funds intended to support clinical services are redirected or diluted, leaving clinicians underpaid and discouraged from working in these critical fields. When nonprofits structure their budgets without prioritizing #fairsalaries for licensed clinicians, they create an #industrialcomplex where it becomes financially unsustainable for dedicated professionals to stay. The result? Fewer qualified clinicians, a revolving door of staff, and a weakened ability to provide the very services nonprofits are funded to deliver. If we want nonprofit services to actually fulfill their #mission, we need to structure funding so that licensed professionals are compensated fairly for their expertise. This approach does more than retain talent; it builds #trust and #consistency in communities that rely on these services. It’s time for nonprofits to lead by example, ensuring funds are used as intended and clinicians receive what they’ve earned. When we invest in our professionals, we invest in #sustainable, effective care. #FromTheDeskOfJPJ #BSW #MSW #DSW #PHD #SOCIALWORK
