COLD CALLING IS NOT DEAD Here my personal favourite 101 tips: - Relax. - Always find out their name and how they are doing. - Try to connect, build relationships, and be an active listener, not just sell. - Tonality is key to building rapport and trust (Sounding confident, positive, and friendly) - it contributes to 70% of successful cold calls - Ask for “help” and permission before you get into the digging phase. - Have a clear cold call script, know it in and out, and don’t rely on it like a robot. - Opening Line - Agenda (Reason for calling) - what value do I bring and what value do I do? - Qualification - The Next Step - Track your progress - Warm up before your calls (Stretching, exercising, walking, voice warmup) - Have clear next steps after the cold call. - Challenge your prospects when it comes to objections sometimes. (show them the new way of doing things)

Cold calling felt like a walk in the park today! 😎 I struggle with confidence in cold calling, but I’ve finally decided to take my mentors’#strategyone advice and jump in the deep end. A few calls down, and it feels like a big step forward in the direction —not just for my cold calling skills but also for building the confidence to sell our business to commercial clients as one truly worth patronage. 🥂Here’s to growth, resilience, and stepping outside the comfort zone!” 🌟 #GrowthMindset #ColdCalling #Confidence #ClearReflectionCleaningLTD

My first cold call of the day hypes me up so positively that success is guaranteed! This is how I do it: I look for an industry-related news headline that could possibly have an impact on my prospect. I call him and find out. ❌ No product pitch 📰 Just the news and the impact Until the client asks what you do. 99% positive start to the cold calling day. Have fun and alot of success! #sales #coldcalling #coldcall #highperformance #communication #coaching

Why Your Cold Messages Are Being Ignored You’re not being ignored because prospects are too busy. You’re being ignored because your message isn’t clear. Trying to be clever or cryptic? It won’t get you a meeting. Messages like, "I have a crazy idea, can I share it?" just don’t work. People don’t have time for vague pitches. There’s a difference between sparking genuine interest and forcing curiosity with no clear value. If you want someone’s attention, lead with the value. Make it clear why they should care from the first message. How does this feel?

The goal of a cold call isn’t to book a meeting. It’s to start a genuine conversation and build trust. Shifting my mindset from "How can I book a meeting?" to "How can I help this person with their challenges and goals?" has been a game changer. When you approach calls with genuine curiosity, people can sense that you’re there to understand, not just sell. I focus on learning about the person on the other end and their side of the business. Of course, every call is different. Sometimes you only have a moment to make your pitch, but for me, that’s always a last resort. Starting with a conversation instead of a pitch has led to deeper connections and more meaningful opportunities. #SalesTips #SalesMindset #ColdCalling #SDRLife #EmpathyInSales

Struggling to get prospects to close the deal? Silence from potential clients can be frustrating, but today, choose curiosity over frustration. If a prospect hasn’t said “no,” they may still be considering your offer. Maybe they need more information, reassurance, or help convincing a decision-maker. In your follow-up, remind them that you’re both in conversation. A simple, “How are your conversations going?” or “Let me know if I can help” can open the door. Acknowledge the weight of their decision and offer your support. Stay present, and remember—they might still be a “yes.” #SalesTips #FollowUpFriday #CustomerEngagement #SalesStrategy #ClosingDeals

Ok, settle this for me - Cold calling on a Friday, yay or nay? There's 2 ways of thinking about it 1) People are more relaxed on Fridays, so more willing to take calls 2) People are switched off on Fridays and don't want to take calls We tested this theory last Friday when I hosted the MySalesCoach cold calling power hour! 12 cold callers, 2pm-3pm, good vibes, smiles and dialers The results: 250+ calls 25 conversations 1 hour well spent There are so many variables when it comes to cold calling and SO MANY reasons not to But one thing is clear 25 conversations from 250 cold calls is better than 0 conversations from 0 cold calls Looking forward to hosting again in future, if Neil Bhuiyan ever lets me back in the saddle! #sales #coaching #mysalescoach

Personalize those follow-ups. You have LinkedIn and social media channels- use them! What was the last post your prospect commented on? Do they have any interesting volunteer activities in their profile you can call out? Get creative and stand out from the templated crowd.
25 “Any thoughts?” follow-ups won't make prospects interested. "Checking in” until they respond is a waste of time. Here’s a better strategy: 1. Send 3 cold emails in 2 weeks. 2. 2x double touch follow-up: Call/Linkedin voice-note + Email. 3. No response? Leave the prospect alone for 1-2 months. Then come back Treat every 2nd follow-up as a new email. People don't remember all of your previous emails. Meanwhile, use the other 20 activities to prospect new business What’s your take on it? PS. Want to elevate your Cold Email game in 2024? DM me “COLD”. I’ll coach you personally.
