EPA Disaster Recovery Report Authored by GA Board Member David Eisenberg
As the Southeastern US begins its recovery following Hurricane Helene, a timely EPA Report has been published, offering critical insights for rebuilding efforts in the months and years ahead. The report addresses climate-related disasters such as floods, high winds, fires, and earthquakes—relevant now more than ever as communities seek to build back stronger.
We are proud to share that David Eisenberg, Executive Director of the Development Center for Appropriate Technology (DCAT) and a long-standing member of Green Advantage’s International Green Builder Education Board, led the authorship of this report.

In a recent message from Clifford Villa, EPA Deputy Assistant Administrator for the Office of Land and Emergency Management, he praised the report’s creativity and its significant contributions to climate resilience. Cliff highlighted this work during Climate Week NYC and at Howard University, emphasizing how this document will serve as a key resource for the EPA's efforts moving forward.
This work would not have been possible without the collaboration of experts like Timonie Hood, EPA Region 9 Zero Waste & Green Building Coordinator, who also contributed to the report.
