To my all my contact center folks, here is a really interesting SMS/Text Messaging stat for today: - 90% of SMS/Text messages from a business to a consumer are read within 3 minutes of being delivered. If you are trying to communicate with your prospects or customers, and there is urgency to start a conversation, seems like SMS/Texting is the way to go.

Feeling confident in your messaging? This simple messaging stress test might burst your bubble 🙈. Try it out... Step 1: Grab a spreadsheet and list out all the H1, H2, H3 headers on your website (shoutout to Blake Emal). Step 2: Do the same for your competitors and add them to dedicated columns alongside yours. Step 3: Anonymize all of it and ask your sales people to pick out your messaging. Were they able to do it? Or was the messaging too similar? Were you yourself surprised at how similar it was? In most cases, the answer to these 3 questions will leave you disconcerted and that's how you know you have a differentiation problem. 💀

If your cold email doesn't clearly state how you can help someone: • 𝗚𝗲𝘁 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 • 𝗠𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘆 • 𝗦𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘆 • 𝗛𝗲𝗹𝗽 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 • 𝗘𝗻𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀 there’s no point in sending it. They are simply not going to care about what you have to say.

Across 37 users in Magnetic Mail, there are 2,000+ unread messages. Pause. We get you a response. The Magnetic Mail system works. But now what? You get a response, and you don’t respond? That’s bad form. But there’s more nuance to this story. Over half of the responses are the typical “Thanks for connecting” messages. You don’t need to respond to those. The other half is a gateway to a conversation that isn’t being used. The other half of the messages were a mix of: → Tell me more… → I’m not interested right now… → Maybe when the contract ends, the current provider reach back out… People, respond to all these messages! It’s permission to engage in a conversation. Do you do all this work to get responses so that you can sit on them? No! Respond to your messages. Those that do never have a dry sales pipeline.

6moVery true, Chris. Would be interested to hear what SMS channels you are leveraging as they each have pros and cons, deliverability measurements (to the wireless carrier vs actual end user handset etc), how the registration process is going for Hatch for existing vs new customers. Would love to exchange ideas if you are open to it.
