Endress+Hauser Group is at the forefront of the energy transformation, contributing significantly to the development of hydrogen as a key player in achieving climate neutrality. 💡 Through our partnership with Graforce, we're tapping into new hydrogen sources via plasmalysis. This process uses renewable energy to split ammonia and methane molecules found in wastewater and gases into their atomic constituents. The result? Hydrogen production that uses only one-fifth (!) of the electrical energy of water electrolysis, significantly reducing production costs. 👩🔬 We're also simplifying logistics with innovative carriers. With the help of Endress+Hauser's devices Liquid organic hydrogen carriers (LOHCs) can absorb hydrogen through a catalytic reaction, making it easy to store and transport under atmospheric conditions. This means existing infrastructure for liquid fuels can be used, saving energy and resources in comparison to the convential method to transfer hydrogen. 💥 Lastly, we're making blast furnaces transformation-ready with coke oven gas. This gas, which contains 55% hydrogen, can replace coal as a reducing agent and energy carrier, immediately lowering emissions and paving the way for future operation with green hydrogen. This could potentially be a game changer for energy-intensive industries such as the steel industry. Endress+Hauser is proud to be part of these groundbreaking initiatives, providing the measurement technology and expertise needed to drive the energy transition forward. Why Hydrogen Could Be the Key to Clean Transportation The transportation sector faces a tough challenge in finding alternatives to fossil fuels. Battery technology, while promising, has limitations for long-haul applications. Here's where hydrogen steps in: -Unmatched range: Unlike battery-electric vehicles, hydrogen fuel cell vehicles boast extended range, making them ideal for trains, airplanes, and long-distance trucking. -Rapid refueling: Hydrogen refueling can be just as quick as filling up a gasoline tank, ensuring minimal disruption to transportation operations. -Clean emissions: Like other clean fuels, hydrogen produces zero tailpipe emissions, contributing to cleaner air and a healthier planet. Developing a robust hydrogen infrastructure is crucial to unlocking its full potential. #hydrogen #transportation #sustainability #cleanenergy
