WorkTech 2024: Insights into the Future of Work Over the past two days, I had the privilege of attending the WORKTECH conference hosted by Convene, where we explored how businesses can stay ahead in an ever-evolving workplace landscape. Here are my top three takeaways: 🤖 AI Adoption Businesses should embrace AI rather than shy away from it. By integrating AI into business processes and offering targeted training, companies can unlock its potential while safeguarding client and project confidentiality. 🤝 Human Connectivity AI might enhance efficiency, but it can never replace genuine human connections. Futureproofing the workforce means prioritizing leadership development and interpersonal skills to maintain the human element of business activity. 🖥 Workplace Design Employees crave more than just a desk—they want a workplace that fosters community and collaboration. Creating spaces that excite people to leave their homes and engage in meaningful in-person interactions is more important than ever. These insights highlight the need to balance technological advancements with human-centric approaches. It’s about creating a workplace that’s not only innovative but also inclusive, inspiring, and connected. What do you think the future workplace should look like? 💭 #WorkTech #FutureOfWork

The Future of Work: Embracing Change and Innovation Having the privilege to work, discuss, and learn from industry experts within CRE & Workplace, it’s fascinating to witness how the future of work is evolving. The pace of change across organizations is astounding, with different companies navigating various stages of transformation. This Gartner data reinforces how diverse workforce, workplace, and work itself are becoming—and there’s much more yet to come, especially with advancements in AI unlocking augmented work through the collaboration of humans and machines. This synergy makes us more capable than ever, driving the next phase of innovation in the workplace. As organizations plan their strategies, it’s important to remember: ✅ There’s no one-size-fits-all model. Whether it’s a traditional office-based setup (5 days a week) or a fully remote, decentralized structure, both approaches can succeed if they’re grounded in a well-formed strategy. It’s about understanding your employees’ expectations, aligning with organizational goals, and ensuring that the workplace design supports them. ✅ Strategy integration is key. Workplace strategies must align with HR, digital transformation, and broader business goals. The organization’s life cycle also plays a crucial role in determining the best model. ✅ The power of data & AI. To keep pace with change, companies must monitor internal trends, detect shifts, and respond proactively. This is where data and AI shine—enhancing the employee experience while driving business performance. 🛠️ Companies helping organizations monitor internal data include: Gartner, Zebra BI, In516ht, Quantifly, Go mindSHIFT, cruXera, 24alife, Antony Slumbers's cohort, Confiva,... As we navigate these changes, one thing is clear: the future of work is dynamic and filled with opportunities. It’s exciting to see how organizations will adapt and innovate in this journey. 💡 How is your organization preparing for the future of work? #FutureOfWork #Innovation #AI #WorkplaceStrategy #EmployeeExperience #workplace

Here's an interesting post from David Ostir, CEO of CAMAC Group with a Gartner Chart depicting the "chaos of innovation" that currently exists in the future of work universe. There's so much going on that it might be overwhelming or difficult to choose a path. You certainly can't do it all, but you can take the time to develop a strategy that works for you and your business. Many of the OutsourceUSA member firms (like David's company CAMAC Group ), can help you navigate these confusing times, make sense of the #futureofwork, and help determine how your company should address it. David Ostir - I'm curious who is tracking and developing the human skills side of the equation. In his 1986 book #Megatrends, John Naisbitt wrote that #hightouch interactions must balance high-tech innovation. Each tool of work implicitly contains social technology. A good example is when #BIM was introduced. It was first used as an efficiency and clash detection tool. The book #BigBimlittlebim made the case that it was a collaboration innovation, the social technology. If you want to see the social technology side of BIM, go to Kimon Onuma's #BIMStorm events. https://www.bimstorm.com/
