We are excited to share that the research paper of our team members and project partners Laura Bauer, Stephan Kühnel, Ilja Nastjuk, and Stefan Sackmann was accepted for publication to the Pacific Asia Journal of the Association for Information Systems (PAJAIS). The paper titled “A Multiple-Method Study on Acceptance Factors of Economic Assessment Approaches for Information Security Investments” is currently published as a preprint before it will be finally released in one of the future issues of the journal. The paper studies factors influencing the acceptance of economic assessment approaches for information security investments, using a combination of semi-structured interviews, literature reviews, and focus group sessions. The resulting typology of acceptance factors covers five dimensions, relevant to different levels of a company and its environment. The results highlight the importance of the practical use of assessment approaches for information security investments and suggest relevant directions for future research. You can access the paper free of charge here: https://lnkd.in/e6wcUd4v. More information about the journal can be found at: https://lnkd.in/epVyWyM7. The publication was produced as part of the ProBITS Projekt funded by the Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung.

Really pleased to have been part of the DORA (San Francisco Declaration on Research Assessment; https://sfdora.org) Working Group with Stephen Curry, Ginny Barbour, Rachel Bruce, Bodo Stern, Stuart King and Zen Faulkes to create guidance on a variety of commonly used research indicators, ranging from Journal Impact Factors (JIF) to the use of the h-index, field-weighted citations, altmetrics, and more. As DORA, we have regularly been asked about how to view the use of such commonly used indicators beyond simply the JIF, so hopefully this guidance will prove useful. In addition, we identified five key principles regarding the use of quantitative information more generally: be clear, be transparent, be specific, be contextual, and be fair. Download the guidance here: bit.ly/DORAindicators (pdf).

Interesting study of conflict of interest statements. More standards are needed to get the most from such statements.
NEW blog post: A Digital Science study of conflict of interest statements highlights the need for a more careful appraisal of published research. The study, led by Pritha Sarkar, has uncovered a tangled web of missing statements, errors, and subterfuge. Pritha's work utilized Dimensions and the Retraction Watch database, and was presented as a poster at this year's World Conference on Research Integrity. Simon Linacre takes us through the research's key findings and their implications. 🔗 Read the post now: https://ow.ly/wfzY50TgvhQ World Conf Research Integrity #ResearchIntegrity #TrustInScience #AcademicIntegrity #ConflictOfInterest

In a research paper, the abstract and the introduction are adjacent sections and are known to share certain elements. However, they serve entirely different purposes.
