There is so much incredible work out there it's hard to keep up. I was recently signposted to this paper from Miriam Alvarado which I think holds exceptional potential for understanding systems, creating propositions for how interventions may work within systems, and then deterimining a course of action for evaluation. The paper proposes a pragmatic five step process: 1. Represent the underlying system 2. Develop an understanding of the intervention 3. Identify links between the intervention (and its influences/impacts) and the underlying system 4. Generate systems-informed research propositions from the CLD, drawing on systems archetypes where relevant 5. Sense-check the systems-informed research propositions with subject area experts and stakeholders Well worth a look I think... https://lnkd.in/ePSae8hS
