Many thanks to Kelli Tice, MD, Rachel Thornton, MD, PhD, FAAP, and Tosan O. Boyo not just for sharing their insights with us but also for their broader leadership with our Health Equity Pledge, joining 50+ cross-industry counterparts in committing to a data-driven approach to redressing disparities. To Kelli's observations below I would add several personal takeaways from their efforts: 1) If it is worth measuring at all, it is worth stratifying the data along socio-economic dimensions -- income, race, ethnicity, age, language, and sex, at minimum; the group started by agreeing on a consistent set of categorizations. 2) If you are trying to improve aggregate performance on any particular metric, identifying the largest disparities on these dimensions and focusing improvement efforts there, is often the best way to do so. 3) If you surface meaningful disparities along any of these dimensions, you are not the only such organization with that challenge; rather than hide your experience, seek out counterparts with whom you can share experiences and best practices. For more information on our Pledge and comparable work going on in ten other topic-based Roundtables of cross-industry leaders, please see our recently released report, "Inspiring Change in Health Care." I'm still reflecting on the powerful conversations I had the privilege of moderating at #HealthEvolutionConnect last week. Our panel discussion on data-driven strategies for advancing #healthequity was a testament to the progress we've made as an industry, and the work that still lies ahead. I want to extend my gratitude to Health Evolution for the opportunity to be a part of this important conversation, and to our panelists, Rachel Thornton, MD, PhD, FAAP from Nemours and Tosan O. Boyo from Sutter Health, for sharing their insights and experiences. As we mark three years since the launch of the Health Equity Pledge - a bold cross-industry initiative to accelerate health equity - it's clear that our collective efforts are yielding results. But it's also clear that this work is a marathon, not a sprint. We must be patient, celebrate our small wins, and continue to push forward together. My two key takeaways from our discussion are: ✅Health equity work requires a long-term view. We must be willing to invest in this work and celebrate our progress along the way. ✅Achieving health equity is a collective effort. It's not a competition – it's a collaboration that requires us to work together as an industry. I'm proud to be part of this work, and I'm grateful to Health Evolution for their leadership in empowering positive change in health care.

This week Chase for Business hosted the Make Your Move Summit in Los Angeles with over 1,000 small business leaders. Morgan Health was there sharing information to help small and mid-size businesses navigate rising health care costs (https://lnkd.in/exRXidBN) and asked business leaders how we can best support them on their health care journey. We also want to hear from you! For small business owners, what are some of the biggest challenges you face related to health care coverage for you or your employees?
