🚢 Exciting Development in Swedish-Polish Trade! I am happy to share that our Swedish-Polish business community is witnessing a significant advancement in sustainable transport. Lakeway Link has announced the commencement of its #RoRo service between #Gdynia and #Södertälje, starting May 21st. The company is an active member of the Swedish-Polish Chamber of Commerce The M/S Lakeway Express will facilitate three weekly departures in each direction, representing not just a logistical milestone but also a step toward more sustainable and efficient cargo transportation. This service is set to decongest the heavily burdened road and rail networks and reduce environmental impacts, aligning perfectly with both countries’ commitment to sustainability and the #EUGreenDeal This initiative also stands out as it offers a non-driver-dependent solution, optimizing resource allocation and reducing dependency on overland routes. As the only company providing a scheduled RoRo transport specifically catering to trailers and heavy cargo between these ports, Lakeway Link is paving the way for a greener and more efficient logistics. For businesses involved in trade and transport between Poland and Sweden, this represents a significant opportunity to streamline operations and embrace a more sustainable approach. I encourage stakeholders to explore the potential of this new connection and how it can benefit your logistics and sustainability goals. The connection will be further extended to #Västerås, accessed through Lake Mälaren in 2026. As shipping agency, we are working both with Pleasure and Cargo Vessel; If the difference between them is quite clear, differences between type of ports it is not to give as granted though; Touristic Port: They are ports where pleasure vessel can safely land, its main aim is to host private and pleasure yachts; They are often inside natural bay; They can have floating bay, various service and also residences since They are located in or next to Holidays destination; Each port has its own rules, but there are not specific requirements to fulfil: just remember that exiting vessels have priority on the entering ones, Brindisi Port is an exception to this rule though. Commercial Port: Mainly armed with everything may need to load or discharge any type of cargo; Based on draft limitation, they can welcome any kind of vessel, no matter if commercial or pleasure: yes, both cargo vessel and pleasure vessel are allowed if notify their entrance/exiting on duty time. Here we have first important difference: you cannot enter, both via land or via sea, inside a commercial port if you do not have an authorization. You can find Cranes, shore or not, intermodal connection, welding and lashing service and all you may needed to load or discharge goods from a vessel; and yes, indeed, you need to book all of those servicies in advance. Commercial port is divided by Terminal; each Terminal can be owned by different entities and apply different tariff. You cannot “park” everywhere. There are assigned spot every day. If you still think “what a shipping agency does” well, consider that we know all port differences and how to deal with them. (Italia Low reference for national Ports Classification: “Legge 84/94, art 4: comma 3.”) #Labrolines #ShippingAgency #commercialport #pleasureport

Happy 187th birthday P&O! 🎉 Did you know? 👉 The Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation company (P&O) was founded by Brodie McGhie Willcox and Arthur Anderson during a period of intense international change, just as steam-driven ships were beginning to replace traditional sailings vessels. Over the next 180+ years, the name P&O became synonymous for speed, reliability and good taste. From our beginnings in 1837, millions of passengers and trucks have travelled on P&O ships. 👉 Today P&O is a leading pan-European ferry and logistics group and a part of DP World, the leading provider of end-to-end logistic solutions and enabler of the flow of trade across the globe. P&O Ferries is a major provider of freight transport and passenger travel services, sailing on seven major routes between Great Britain, France, Northern Ireland, Netherlands and Belgium. But the best is yet to come! The 187 years of P&O history reminds me of the quote by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry: "If you want to build a ship, don’t drum up the men to gather wood, divide the work, and give orders. Instead, teach them to yearn for the vast and endless sea". I'm proud to be part of the story and great team of people driven by love for shipping, logistics and transportation.
