In hotels, restaurants, bars, and other hospitality venues around the world, coffee accounts for a significant portion of sales. Traditionally speaking, however, these hospitality businesses have served low-quality coffee with little focus on flavour, brewing methods, or sustainability. But coffee is integral to the customer or guest experience. A recent US survey found that 60% of people said high-quality coffee was an important part of their hotel or holiday rental stay, with 50% admitting to packing their own coffee in case the available products didn’t meet their expectations. As the specialty coffee market continues to grow, its influence can be felt in the wider hospitality industry. Now more than ever, hotels are paying close attention to their coffee offerings to elevate the guest experience and meet the growing demand for better-quality options. In today’s article, Zoe Stanley-Foreman speaks to Naji Sourati, co-founder of Mattina Coffee, for his insight on how specialty coffee is redefining quality standards in hotels. #PerfectDailyGrind #HotelCoffee #SpecialtyCoffee https://lnkd.in/e9mueRQw

💫Coffee for wellness resorts and spas? As the article suggests, many top-rated hotels still serve fairly standard coffee, missing an opportunity to elevate the guest experience. For wellness resorts and spas, though, the stakes are even higher. Simply offering a better coffee isn’t enough; guests in these settings expect premium experiences that reflect wellness values at every touchpoint. That’s why introducing Imunika as a high-end amenity can be a powerful differentiator. Here’s how: - Aligned with Wellness Values: Imunika’s wellness-driven, flavorful coffee aligns perfectly with the identity of luxury wellness venues, showing guests that every detail has been chosen with care. - Enhancing the Guest Experience: Quality shines in the details, and guests take notice. Imunika can be a mindful morning ritual that adds a meaningful touch to their stay. - Standing Out in the Market: Premium amenities set brands apart. By partnering with Imunika, wellness venues can resonate deeply with health-oriented guests and strengthen their own unique identity. "A study by UCC Coffee found that 75% of hotel guests rated #coffee offerings as “poor” or “average”, with a third also saying that a bad coffee experience would make them less likely to return. This presents a clear opportunity for #hotels to invest in their coffee programmes to improve the overall guest experience and increase #customersatisfaction." - Perfect Daily Grind To learn more about how specialty coffee is raising the bar in the hospitality industry and defining quality standards, Zoe Stanley-Foreman speaks with Naji Sourati, co-founder of Mattina Coffee. https://lnkd.in/emzYA_fB

Anticipating guests’ needs is a crucial skill for providing exceptional hospitality service. As a restaurant manager, here are some effective ways to anticipate and exceed guest expectations: - Collect guests feedback: Regularly gather feedback from guests through surveys and guest experience systems, Tools like Instant Feedback by table visit can help you proactively identify areas for improvement and address potential issues before they escalate, by promptly improving services based on feedback, you can enhance guest satisfaction. Analyze guest behavior: Utilize business intelligence tools to track guest behaviors. For instance, observe patterns such as specific preferences (e.g., ordering ice and mint with sparkling water) and timing (e.g., morning arrivals). Understanding these patterns allows you to anticipate guests’ needs and tailor your services accordingly. Stay tech-savvy: Embrace technology to enhance guest experiences. Consider creating a comfortable waiting area with amenities like sofas, quality coffee, and charging stations for business travelers arriving early in the morning. By anticipating their needs, you can create a memorable destination for repeat guests. Record guest requests: Keep a systematic record of guest requests and preferences (e.g., have an advance order form for the long stay guest at your hotel). Pay attention to comments left on various platforms where your restaurant is present. Implement protocols to address common requests, such as adjusting portion sizes, improving dish flavors, or providing natural sweeteners for coffee. Train your team: Foster a culture of pre-emptive service. Train your staff not only to react but also to anticipate guest needs. make understanding and fulfilling those needs an integral part of your restaurant’s DNA, create a work environment by using and implementing the Japanese Kaizen mythology. Be observant: Pay attention to non-verbal cues. Is a guest glancing at their watch? are they looking around for assistance? anticipate their needs by offering timely assistance, refilling water glasses, or suggesting menu items based on their preferences, small details make big difference. Remember, anticipating guests’ demands is essential in today’s competitive hospitality industry. By continuously improving services and meeting expectations, your restaurant can stand out and retain loyal patrons. #Saudi #Hospitality

The Strategic Pour: How a Comp Drink Tab Benefits Lounges and Bars In the competitive world of hospitality, creating a loyal customer base is paramount. One effective strategy that stands out is the implementation of a comp drink tab. Allocating 20% of register sales to complimentary beverages may seem generous, but it’s a calculated move that can yield substantial returns. Cultivating Loyalty Firstly, a comp drink tab fosters a sense of appreciation and loyalty among patrons. It’s a gesture that says, “We value your presence.” This emotional investment translates into repeat visits and word-of-mouth promotion, which are invaluable to any establishment. Tax Advantages From a financial standpoint, the benefits are twofold. Not only do you create goodwill, but you also stand to gain more in tax deductions than the actual cost of the items given away. This can lead to a healthier bottom line, as the cost of complimentary items is often less than their perceived value. Supporting Your Team Moreover, a comp drink tab is a way to give back to the servers and bartenders who are the face of your business. It allows them to offer a drink on the house to family, friends, and regulars, empowering them to act as ambassadors for your brand. Ensuring a Vibrant Atmosphere On slower nights, the ability to offer a comp drink can be the difference between an empty bar and a lively one. A vibrant atmosphere attracts passersby and can turn a slow evening into a profitable one. Operational Insights Lastly, a comp drink tab provides valuable data. It helps track spills, waste, and other areas that need attention, offering insights into operational efficiencies. In conclusion, a comp drink tab is not just a cost—it’s an investment in your business’s future. It’s a strategic tool that can enhance customer experience, provide tax benefits, support your staff, ensure a lively atmosphere, and offer operational insights. For lounges and bars looking to make a mark, it’s a pour that pays off. For more information in the restaurant hospitality industry or for consultation, -Scott Chenow www.fxillusioneering.com
