Trying to find answers to my questions! 🤔 As we reflect on the dot-com bubble of the early 2000s, it's fascinating to draw parallels to the current AI and generative AI boom. Just as the term "Internet Company/dot com" once fueled enormous valuations, we're now seeing a similar trend with AI companies. The recent preview release of GPT-4 demonstrates a plethora of capabilities that many generative AI startups are striving to achieve. Most AI tools i have used so far feel half-baked and just aren’t worth the time beyond a point-including well funded AI startups with cool tag line to do everything in less than a minute. Unless you are willing to become a prompt engineer and give very specific, unidirectional inputs, the results are largely underwhelming. Relying on AI often ends up being more time-consuming than just solving the problem yourself. So no, AI is not going to ‘change the world’—at least not in its current state. And honestly, they all look like clones of each other. #ai

Indeed, Jeremiah. Agents aren't this week's shiny object, or Ford-versus-Ferrari speed test. (Although in this part of the hype cycle they may land in those camps for a short while) Those in the know are very excited about Agents because they represent a technical advance that levels the playing field for innovation, and brings immense innovation power to the level of "ordinary" (non-coding) people. Put simply; Agents are the "apps" that will drive most of the tasks and processes that will "do things" for us, "discover insights" for us and generally amp-up, speed-up and power-up everything we do. They will be available in ready-made format for us to select, buy, rent or assemble for ourselves. Some will be private, working on our own matters and data, and others will be our extended staff, assistants and vendors, so to speak, gathering insights and value from the outside world. Yet others will be available in utility "chunks" or "task strings" that can be put together visually like Legos or simply requested using natural language instructions. Agent-making and agent-customization and agent-craft will be where we see ordinary (non-coders) people creating high-impact innovations and utilities.
