Is the industry still reeling under the OT pressure as much as before? Is the slowdown still going to be far too more, far too much longer than we had initially anticipated? What exactly is the situation? Since you are right there in it and you really need, you can see the pulse and you know, feel the pulse right there. You know, I, I don't see OTT as a pressure at all. I see it as a new means of distribution of content. And whenever any new technology has come in, always in the past, there has been a certain amount of. Anxiety, a certain amount of wondering about the future of the pre-existing modes of distribution. So when cinema came in, people thought radio would die. When television came in, people thought cinema would die. When the laser disk and the and the DVD came in, they thought that the VHS would. So you've had these phases and you've had these. These phases of technological disruption that occur, I think as content creators, what we should do is embrace technology and say that what is it? It's really one more means of your content reaching out to people. It's a more convenient way of people being able to access your content when they want, in the fashion in which they want, at the pace at which they want. And I think you need to embrace it and make content for all kinds of modes. So make movies for theatrical, make movies for streaming, make series for streaming. Because the kind of stories that you can tell today as content creators has multiplied, and I think everyone in the business should really take advantage of that. Even when global film and TV production is down 7 % in Q1 of 2024 as compared to last year, there is a 45 % increase on committed spend than last year. The biggest increase is in the $40M-$100M range, for episodic projects and medium budget studio films. The next big increase is in the $100+ showing that focus has increased on marquee projects. The struggles of independent cinema are only increasing with the degrowth in Q1, though it can change with some shining examples that get released soon. #film #tv #contentspend #global

Does a Director needs a letter of intent from OTT Platforms and Theatre Distributors to get a Producer? This is recent thing I'm hearing in the film industry. To me personally there is no way to get a letter of intent from OTT or Distributors to purchase the movie without finishing it. What is your thoughts, People? #filmmaking #producer #ottplatform

Happy Monday (even if its grey and wet again ☔ ) So the new Indie Film Tax Credit is incredible news for low budget independent films, working this out against our next movie ENIGMA, the 40% relief essentially works out to around 28% of your overall budget costs (this will change film to film) but this is around 11% more than the previous tax credit.
