Today marks the 7th Global Recycling Day. We all have a role to play in #Recycling, from what we recycle at home to how we operate our businesses. This year’s theme is #RecyclingHeroes which recognises the people, places and activities that showcase what an important role recycling plays in contributing to an environmentally stable planet and a greener future. In 2023 we recycled over 2,600 tonnes, which resulted in avoiding 99.15% of recyclable material going to landfills. Additionally, 90.92% was repurposed as RDF energy for reuse. Recycling is just part of the circular economy. With one client donation, we provided 1,570 pieces of furniture to over 20 different schools, making a substantial contribution to a greener and more sustainable future. #GlobalRecyclingDay #CircularEconomy

Global Recycling Day 2024 ♻️ Yesterday was Global Recycling Day. Each year, Earth exhausts billions of tons of natural materials, highlighting the urgent need for sustainable practices. #globalrecyclingday aims to spotlight this reality and encourage us to think 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗲, not waste. At Braehead Foods, we prioritise recycling, particularly when it comes to food waste. We actively engage in initiatives such as donating surplus food to local food banks and participating in the 'too good to go' scheme. So far, we're proud to have saved 1560 meals from landfill to date. Curious about the impact? find out what this is equivalent to below! 👇 Too Good To Go #stopfoodwaste #globalrecyclingday #recyclingday #foodwastereduction #toogoodtogo

Textiles, such as this blanket, should not be placed in your recycling bin at home! 🚯🗑️ If you aren't able to reuse or donate your unwanted textiles, look out for a specialist recycling scheme! Many Household Waste Recycling Centres are able to accept textiles for recycling and there are an increasing number of specialist schemes in local supermarkets. Textiles are very difficult to recycle because they are usually made up from lots of different materials. By putting them in your recycling bin at home, you risk contaminating other recyclable materials. ♻️ For more info on what can and cannot be recycled visit 👉 https://loom.ly/FaH-4Ds #JBRecycling #Recycling #WasteManagement #Textiles #Knowledge

🌍🔄 Happy Global Recycling Day! 🔄🌍 Let's celebrate our planet and do our part to keep it green! Here are some quick tips for recycling in your home: 1️⃣ Separate your waste: If your local council doesn’t collect your recycling, set up designated bins for paper, plastic, glass, and metal to make sorting easier. 2️⃣ Reduce single-use items: Opt for reusable bags, bottles, and containers whenever possible to minimise waste. 3️⃣ Check local recycling guidelines: Make sure you know what can and can't be recycled in your area to avoid contamination. 4️⃣ Repurpose or donate: Before throwing items in the bin, consider if they can be repurposed or donated to a charity shop or someone in need. 5️⃣ Dispose of electronics responsibly: Recycle old electronics at designated drop-off locations to prevent harmful chemicals from polluting the environment. **RECYCLING EVEN MORE PLASTIC...** 📈🚀 At Eco Brixs HQ, we’re recycling more and more… and MORE plastic! Previously in February, we were thrilled to tell you how Eco Brixs had experienced a record-breaking month, recycling 52 tonnes of plastic waste in a single month. Well, we’re excited to announce that our recycling rates have continued to increase. In March, we recycled 78 tonnes of plastic. Then in April, we surpassed even this - recycling an incredible 91 tonnes of plastic! As we pay for every kilogram of plastic we receive from the community, more recycling means more money is placed into the hands of local people, helping them to fund essentials such as rent, food and school fees for their children. Truly, a win-win for people and planet! 🌍 🙌🏿 #circulareconomy #climateaction #climatecrisis #uganda #Sustainablefuture #Circularity #beatplasticpollution #Sustainability #Education #Environment #inclusion #circulareconomy #disability #uganda #Plasticpollution #recycledplastic #recycledproducts #closedloop #BusinessForGood #creatingimpact #environmentalimpact #economicimpact #socialimpact #buyingwaste #recyclingwaste #motivation #incentivised #addingvalue #matchfunding #donate #supportourwork #getinvolved #GreenMatchFund

🏡 When replacing your old one, it's crucial to weigh your disposal options: recycling, donating, or trashing. Recycling reduces landfill waste, donating benefits those in need, and trashing should be a last resort due to its environmental impact. Make a choice that aligns with your values and supports sustainability! ♻️🌍 #GoneForGood #EcoFriendly #Sustainability #WasteManagement #CommunitySupport
