Millions of Americans want to ditch their physical wallets for smartphones, thanks to the rise of digital ID programs in several states. But are businesses ready for this shift? My latest data piece for Government Technology dives into this very question. I placed information requests into 11 states with a fully-implemented digital ID program, creating this data viz to paint a picture of nationwide enrollment. Did you know more than five million people have signed up for these programs? However, there’s a critical gap between adoption and acceptance. Apart from the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and several state DMVs, few businesses or law enforcement agencies have announced they’re ready to accept this new form of identity. What do you think? What needs to happen to bridge this gap and ensure a smooth transition to a digital ID future? There’s some thought-provoking input from one of the country’s leading digital ID program directors, Eric Jorgensen, Arizona Department of Transportation, in this story. Here's the article link: https://lnkd.in/eseNkvre Share your thoughts in the comments! #digitalidentity, #GovTech, #futureofwork, #dataprivacy #DigitalID, #MobileID, #IdentityManagement, #Authentication, #DigitalWallet

Interesting revelation in the US election – younger people can’t write (at least their signatures). Clearly this is due to use of personal devices. It raises some interesting questions. Is the US being dumbified by personal technology? Does it matter if people only need to type, not write, in the modern world? Is loss of this skill just part of progress? From a data point of view signatures have traditionally been used to establish identity. Maybe Americans should use thumbprints instead? #datagoveranance #datacatalog #datamanagement #MDM #masterdatamanagement

Ad Age's Jack Neff exposes a troubling pattern of widespread inaccuracies in signal matching and consumer identity data. While identity remains unclear, one thing is certain—the opportunity is ripe for innovation. The path forward?. Accurate, time-series data is restoring the full value of first-party data (1PD), offering real-time insights that drive growth and optimize performance in the moment. #SignalLoss #PrivacyInnovation #TimeSeriesData #DecisionIntelligence
