This consensus-driven report draws on the collective knowledge of over 50 high-level Commissioners from the  Broadband Commission for Sustainable Development, including UN leaders, industry CEOs, and distinguished figures from government, civil society, and academia. This year's edition, "Leveraging AI for Universal Connectivity", will be delivered in two parts. Today we get access to the first part of the report, providing an overview of how AI applications are already transforming sectors like e-government, education, digital health, digital finance, and the environment. It also addresses the associated risks and implications for the digital divide. As we track progress on the Broadband Commission’s 2025 Advocacy Targets and approach the Summit of the Future & the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda deadline, this report aims to inform policymakers on AI advancements. Good insight into the challenges of implementing AI in Healthcare. The #2 challenge outside of budgetary constraints is upgrading legacy systems and the switch to digital, which makes sense.

Today I followed the interesting online event provided by #EuroPCom, 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐏𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧. The most important matter, that the speakers discussed, was the impact of Artificial Intelligence on public communication, which implies how it could be a useful tool to engage citizens. Nowadays the main issue is not only the slight engagement of citizens on political matters, even at the local level but also the disaffection of the electorate from institutional activities that affect the daily life of each of us. Two main points were reached during this long session of #EuroPCom, Conference for public communication. 💡 First, AI can provide many advantages for local communities such as cutting healthcare costs, improving education services, energy reduction, and information. 💡 Second, AI is useful for the public communication field and media if it is used ethically. Otherwise, we don't have any chances to take up benefits for future generations. The lack of comprehensive health data sets limits the ability to use AI as a predictive or diagnostic tool. This gap highlights a critical issue, data infrastructure is foundational to unlocking the power of AI. However, challenges often ignite innovation. Building data ecosystems in underrepresented regions will not only enable AI adoption but also create more diverse and inclusive health solutions. A system trained on local data is more likely to address region-specific health challenges, creating solutions that truly resonate with the population's needs. AI isn’t just about technology, it’s about creating a healthcare ecosystem that listens, learns, and adapts.
