Update: The game is now 52% funded, so over half way there. If you are a supporter of small businesses, you can help launch a career. More info about the project at https://lnkd.in/eZA9BnyK We have another entrepreneur in the family. With advice and guidance from The Prince's Trust, yesterday saw the launch of a very cheekily named, but brilliantly ruthless card game by a young entrepreneur. Knowing at first hand how hard it is to set up a small business and get it off the ground, to manage the downs the ups, the set backs, the moments of triumph. I have been so impressed with the determination shown, the one step at a time approach, the attention to detail and the commitment to quality, the feel the fear, which at times can be overwhelming, and it do it anyway. Each achievement gives you confidence, each set back makes you doubt. You work harder than you ever thought possible, and then you work some more. Only years later do you look back and realise how far you have come, how things that once were impossible and terrifying, you now do with ease, without thinking, everyday. So design and development complete, playtesting undertaken, feedback analysed and refinements made, the game, Shat on a Cat (I said it was a cheeky name!) is on Kickstarter. A new entrepreneur takes his first big step into the world of business and the journey begins. If you are a small business owner take a moment to remember how it felt to step into the unknown, then look how far you have come. We have done, and are doing well. Bravo for the self employed and good luck to the young entrepreneur. https://lnkd.in/eZA9BnyK Women in Business Networking Drew Patel Emmerse Studios Ltd Dan Moriarty Emily Alexander Emma Mills, Marketing, Content and Website Specialist Gavin Costigan Geraldine Witt The Goodwood Group Helen Cartwright Women in Business Networking Hampshire Business Networking Hampshire Business Networking The Prince’s Trust England Young Entrepreneur Marketplace Beverley Poole Business Builder Business South #Smallbusiness #Youngentrepreneur #selfemployed #princestrust #supportsmallbusiness #smallbusinessowner #creative #game #cardgame #newgames #kickstarter StartUp Disruptors™️ - Online Entrepreneurship Education #selfemployment #smallbusinessowners #Hampshire #gaming #Hampshire

I have been an entrepreneur for more than a decade. Maybe, the worst one by all worldly definitions of success. I have known entrepreneurs of all shapes, sizes, and colors. Few were con-artist. Few were fed up with their jobs. Few of them made schemes to siphon off money. Few were passionate about solving problems. Some made unicorns (actually 2) > Con artists became rich. They lie on podiums and seminars today. Manufacture stories retrospectively. > Passionate and the smartest ones got crushed. They are in oblivion today. That's real. One truth is Founders aren't any special folks. Period. > All the glorification about them being visionary and hardworking is phony shit. > There is nothing special about them. Zilch. > They are lucky to tinker with ideas and stayed their path long enough. > They don't deserve any special attention or respect just because they raised some money, made some profits, and got covered by Forbes. > They have no special insight into how businesses work in general. Forget teaching you how your startup should work. They have been unnecessarily hyped by funders and media - who use them to run their shops. The recent one is Sharp Tank. These sharks get more airtime to sell their products than help you - Try looking into the "per second spot" rate for TV appearances. Now, If you are planning to start up anything new. Go deep within yourself first. Clear your "WHY". That's where it starts from. Don't run behind anyone because they claim to have some special insight and network. Start tinkering with your idea. Start colliding your idea with reality and witness it with all openness. Keep doing that again and again. Don't let the idea of pimping your company ( fund-raising ) for some quick dollars and glory before you are sure about the path you want to walk in the future with moneybag dudes. Know thyself. - Aristotle. Know your limitations. Get comrades who can join the mission. Be honest to your comrades and yourself. Be emphatic. Both empathetic and honest forever. Keep moving. Kill noises. Listening to people who have walked the path is ok. Nothing more. Don't get swayed by anything and anyone. Your way is the only way. #startup #entrepreneurship #founders

The Unseen Journey of Startup Challenges and Learning from Failure Starting a business is an exhilarating journey filled with ambitions and dreams. Yet, the road to launching a startup often ventures through uncomfortable and unfamiliar territories. It's in these challenging phases that many budding entrepreneurs find themselves reconsidering their decisions, sometimes halting their projects entirely before they even launch. I've been there myself. Back in college, I started a custom sneaker business with a co-founder. The concept was fueled by passion, but we soon realized that passion alone wasn't enough. Stepping into the uncharted waters of entrepreneurship without a readiness to fully commit was like sailing without a map. We were unprepared for the level of nurturing and dedication that our startup required, leading to its premature end. This experience, though initially seen as a failure, was invaluable. It taught me crucial lessons about business dynamics, personal commitment, and the importance of readiness. Understanding the complexities of managing a startup prepared me for my next venture far more than any success could have. Today, as I stand on the brink of launching a new clothing business, I carry with me not just the excitement of a new beginning but the wisdom gained from past mistakes. The lessons learned from my failed sneaker business have been instrumental in shaping my approach and readiness for this new endeavor. To all the aspiring entrepreneurs out there, remember that every failure holds powerful lessons. Embrace the uncomfortable, learn from every setback, and keep pushing forward. Your past failures are just stepping stones to your future successes. Let's connect and share our journeys, the ups and downs, the stumbles and restarts. What lessons have you learned from your entrepreneurial journey?

The Journey of a Bootstrapped Entrepreneur: A Story of Resilience, Hustle, and Belief When I embarked on this entrepreneurial journey, there was no safety net—just a vision, determination, and an unwavering belief in what I was building. With no external funding or investor backing, I had to make every rupee count. From wearing multiple hats to working late nights, the path was challenging, but every step taught me invaluable lessons: Resourcefulness over resources Resilience in the face of setbacks Patience when results didn’t come as fast as expected Hustle to push beyond boundaries There were moments of doubt, moments when I questioned if it was all worth it. But with each small win, every customer’s trust, and every team member’s commitment, I was reminded of why I started in the first place. Bootstrapping has taught me the true essence of building a business from the ground up: it’s about staying lean, staying focused, and never losing sight of your purpose. To every aspiring entrepreneur out there: You don’t need deep pockets to start. You need deep conviction. 💪 Here’s to all the bootstrapped founders who are creating something meaningful—one step at a time, one customer at a time. #Entrepreneurship #Bootstrapped #Resilience #Hustle #StartupLife #FoundersJourney #BuildingDream

Being an entrepreneur is a journey filled with both triumphs and challenges. From the outside, it often looks like success happens overnight – a name suddenly emerges, a product takes off, or a person becomes a symbol of achievement. But behind the surface lies years of hard work, doubt, and sacrifices that few truly understand or recognize. The journey involves long days, countless rejections, and a constant battle with uncertainty. It demands an almost superhuman focus and resilience that many would struggle to maintain. For every successful entrepreneur, there are hundreds of moments where giving up seemed like the only option, yet they chose to persevere. Because it’s not just an idea or a product that creates success – it’s the courage to dream, the determination to push forward when times are tough, and the ability to surround yourself with the right people who share your vision. The world’s largest companies, from tech giants to groundbreaking startups, were born out of entrepreneurship. But no one does it alone. It’s the entrepreneur’s courage that sparks the flame, but it’s also the team, the partnerships, and a supportive ecosystem that make the vision thrive. So, to those who are doubting or facing setbacks – remember, you’re not alone. Every success story began as a struggle. And together, with the right people by your side, it’s possible to create something truly unique. Don’t give up! The future belongs to those who dare to dream.

🚀 Embarking on the Entrepreneurial Journey: A Glimpse into a 5-Year Odyssey 🚀 Hey, dreamers and doers! It's Jed from Your Money Vehicle, coming at you with a reflection on my entrepreneurial voyage over the last five years. Here's the essence of what this rollercoaster has taught me: 1️⃣ Creation & Feedback: Your first masterpiece? That's for you. But the sequel? That's where the magic of feedback transforms your vision. Open the door wide to perspectives but sift through them wisely. The goal? Amplify your creation's impact in the real world. 🌍✨ 2️⃣ The Power of Niche: Riches are in the niches, my friends. Who are you speaking to? Zone in on your tribe – for me, it's the 18-year-old high schoolers navigating financial literacy. Your message sharpens when you know your audience like the back of your hand. 🔍🎯 3️⃣ Beyond the Product: Here's a rookie mistake – obsessing over the product but neglecting its journey to the market. Remember, a masterpiece unseen remains a masterpiece unsold. Embrace distribution and aim for MVP – your perfect offering is a myth. Market, then perfect. 📈🚀 4️⃣ Sustainable Habits Over One-offs: Want to transcend from self-employed to true entrepreneur? Build systems, not tasks. Your venture should thrive, with or without you. That's the real test of entrepreneurship. Set up, scale, and track for repeatable success. 🔄💼 In this thrilling journey, each lesson has been a stepping stone towards growth, impact, and understanding the heart of entrepreneurship. And guess what? There's more to explore, more to learn, and endless horizons to chase. 🌟 Join us as we continue to navigate the ebbs and flows of the entrepreneurial tide. Your insights, your journey, could be the next beacon for someone out there. Most online businesses fail… but many of these businesses would be alive and thriving if they only did the proper market research before launching. I’ve seen it over and over again… An ambitious and talented entrepreneur gets an idea, creates an offer, excitedly launches that offer with the hopes that this will be their big break… only for that offer to instantly flop. This happens because at the end of the day what makes a business successful or not depends on the problems they solve and how effectively they solve those problems. If you don’t research your market properly you run the risk of creating an offer that doesn’t address your market's biggest pain points… you might even end up creating an offer that provides a solution that no one wants or cares about. Usually at this point instead of dropping the offer and moving on to the next one people double down… Instead of admitting their idea was a dud, they sink in more hours, spend more money on ads, hire experts, and eventually - like a gambling addict who doesn’t know when to stop - these business owners finally give up when they’re in crippling debt. This is known as the ‘Sunken Cost Fallacy’. The ‘Sunken Cost Fallacy’ happens because humans are stubborn by nature, and we’d often put more work in on a failing business or idea, than to admit defeat - even if that defeat was inevitable from the very beginning. BUT… This can all be avoided if - -you do the proper market research, -identify the pains, gaps and needs in the market, -and create your product or service according to your market needs and pains, Then it will significantly reduce the rate of failures in an entrepreneurial journey Then, just patience will bring in that delayed success!! ... #businesssuccess #startup #startupbusiness #startupsuccess #localbusinessmarketing #businessboost #businesssuccess2024 #businessgrowth #businessgrowthstrategy

#Bootstrapping Your Way to Success: A Love Letter to Gritty Entrepreneurs 💪 All right, folks, I'm about to drop some truth bombs that seem counterintuitive from someone in the #VC world. Sometimes you've got to give credit where it's due! Let's talk about the unsung heroes of the startup world: bootstrapped businesses. 🦸♀️🦸♂️🚀 🚀 Here's why bootstrapping might just be the coolest thing since sliced bread: 1. You're the captain now! 🏴☠️ Full control over your ship, no VCs breathing down your neck. 2. Ramen profitability is your superpower. 🍜 Who needs caviar when you've got instant noodles and a dream? 3. Creativity on steroids. 💡 Limited resources = unlimited ingenuity. 4. No pitch deck nightmares. 😴 Sleep easy knowing you don't have to explain your "hockey stick growth" to sceptical investors. 5. Every customer feels like winning the lottery. 🎉 Because, well, they kind of are when you're bootstrapped! Now, I know what you're thinking: "But aren't you a VC? Isn't this like a burger joint promoting salads?" 🍔🥗 You're not wrong! But here's the thing: we respect the hustle. The grit. The sheer audacity of building something from nothing but your blood, sweat, and tears (and maybe a maxed-out credit card or two). To all the bootstrapped entrepreneurs out there: we see you, we admire you, and we're secretly a little jealous of your freedom. Keep crushing it! And hey, if you ever decide you want to trade some of that freedom for a big ol' pile of cash, you know where to find us. 😉💰 #Bootstrapping #Entrepreneurship #StartupLife #VCsGoneWild Who's got a bootstrapping story to share? Drop it in the comments and let's celebrate the DIY spirit! 👇
