Nothing quite so succinctly captures the cultural spectacle and general #media Zeitgeist of jousting ideological anachronisms than does the symbolic Greco-Roman wrestling match of a contemporary Presidential political #debate. Quite agnostic of personal political and/or philosophical systems of belief, I am worried by the vacuum of #integrity and #character on display. Having an #opinion has become more important than the substance or validity and ethical consequence of that position. That's our Zeitgeist and we should be worried. Should the fate of #democracy, if indeed this is what is at stake, be grounded in the scattered ideological confetti and lowest common denominator of digital bread and circuses? Yes, this is not good but to be quite honest, when has #humanity ever really known how to negotiate the intractable enigma that it serially represents to itself? The moment at which intelligence and insight cease to find a valid place in #leadership debates asks more significant questions of us than which #political team or ideological tribe we might reflexively and emotionally identify with. Food for thought: the stakes are high but the arguments are simplistic, repetitive and shallow. The medium to long-term future of human civilisation, such as it is, is not and should never be a remedial #popularity contest.

Wow! That was literally 🔥 Thank you Dr. Amina Aitsi-Selmi MD PhD for joining Trina Casey, Sahana Chattopadhyay and I as we explored so much, seeded around Fugitive Spaces., with a nod to Dr Bayo Akomolafe with regards the reference How do we move from 'Conventional Spaces' to Fugitive Spaces? When you think about the word fugitive, but also feel about it, what comes up for you? Looking up the definition I was excited, ENERGISED, by the meaning being "a person who has escaped from captivity or is in hiding." - What if we are all in the process of escaping the captivity of hegemony, capitalism, and patriarchy? And of our own colonised minds? To what extent can you stay in 'discomfort,' maybe even in your own pain, and in that of the world? What could life look and feel like for you if you 're-integrated'? Do you sense there is any dis-integration present in your life currently? A wonderful insight shared was that in the process of becoming, you can only do that with, and in relation, to others. Presence, Power, and Possibility - Dr Anima shared these three energetic lenses of her work, which got a felt-body reaction from us co-hosts. Finally, you likely know about Joseph Campbell's Hero Journey? What if this was seeded in personal development spaces as a mechanism to maintain hegemonic control? Not sure how deliberate it was, but it is having the impact of focusing on individuals over the collective somehow. These were just a few of my rich takeaways from today's diverse exploration. Why not dive in and expand possibilities for you, your family, your community, and the world. #ChangeIsAnInsideJob #Transformation

Men/husbands want the respect, willingness to submit, have gratitude, and be appreciative from their women/wives. • It is the lack of respect for each other that all wars and conflicts occur. • Life is simple because all human beings seek peace, freedom, and happiness. Do you concur? • Children being obedient to their parents are not considered to be slaves, but wives being submissive to their husbands are considered to be slaves? • Modern women make it make sense! If you want successful and harmonious relationships with men, you must stop all this foolishness and learn to behave. • Relationships should be harmonious, not in conflict. • Submission is not slavery because modern women constantly contradict. • Modern men can not get along with modern women because of their attitudes. • They are so masculine as alpha that they lack feminine energies like being humble and having gratitude. • Modern women cannot find love because they lack trust. • Modern men can not get respect because they lose their logic and rationality due to lust. • Why do modern women always expect modern men to be traditional gentlemen and be chivalrous? • But yet, they refuse to be traditional ladies and be kind, friendly, grateful, appreciative, and courteous? • Thessalonians 4:3-4 clearly state about sexual immorality and how males and females should conduct themselves accordingly. • Ephesians 5:22 - 5:33 clearly state husbands should love their wives, and wives should submit and follow their husbands respectfully. • Genesis 2:24 states, "Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh." • Wife submit and respect your husband, so you and your husband's mind be as one (mesh).

"In this episode of New Ideal Live, Onkar Ghate and Nikos Sotirakopoulos discuss Milton Friedman’s impact as a public intellectual and how his advocacy of the free market differed from Ayn Rand’s radical philosophical case for capitalism. Among the topics covered: ● Why Milton Friedman is an essentially positive influence on free market thought; ● How Friedman’s moral conventionality reinforced the ideas he tried to oppose; ● The importance of stating the ideal when advocating for gradual reform; ● Why questions of morality are at the root of economic issues; ● How Friedman’s amoralism and pragmatism blinded him to the statists’ motivation; ● Ayn Rand’s critical evaluation of Friedman; ● Why the abolitionist movement is a model for moving the world toward freedom." https://lnkd.in/gTiQrXBK

We live in a world full of wonder and beauty. Please don’t allow the ugly things that some human beings do to other human beings to sully your sense of childlike wonder of the world, and the universe in which we live. Consider these thoughts from historian Howard Zinn’s book, “A Power Governments Cannot Suppress”: “We need hope. An optimist isn’t necessarily a blithe, slightly sappy whistler in the dark of our time. To be hopeful in bad times is not being foolishly romantic. It is based on the fact that human history is a history not only of competition and cruelty but also of compassion, sacrifice, courage, kindness. What we choose to emphasize in this complex history will determine our lives. If we see only the worst, it destroys our capacity to do something. If we remember those times and places-and there are so many-where people have behaved magnificently, it energizes us to act, and raises at least the possibility of sending this spinning top of a world in a different direction. And if we do act, in however small a way, we don’t have to wait for some grand utopian future. The future is an infinite succession of presents, and to live now as we think human beings should live, in defiance of all that is bad around us, is itself a marvelous victory.” C.A.Hurst

Michel Foucault once said he was not a prophet, but his job was to make windows where there were once walls. It is such a profound statement. And I agree, there is nothing too sacred not to be critiqued. The human race has always relied on social critiques to pick holes in humans' thinking process in order to save humanity from itself. That is how the human race has been able to evolve from unmitigated slavery to serfdom, while it continues to tilt back and forth in this era between rough-neck capitalism, socialism and democratic socialism. The relevance of Socrate, Aristotle, Voltaire, Friedrich Nietzsche, Micheal Foucault and to today's Dr Jordan Peterson and the rest, shows the world will always need thinkers and social critiques. We must unbiasedly question everything including other people's ideas, views and that of our own even if they find it offensive. Why? It is only matter of time before one man's destructive idea or view puts into action, enslaves humanity. Like Micheal Foucault said, "people know what they do and why they do what they do, but what they don't know is what what they do does." While you may not necessarily like being critiqued, even though you have the right to choose not to respond, you still owe yourself and humanity the duty to reflect on why. For every destruction and pain done to others, always begins as an opinion, then actionable idea.
