When I wrote this piece yesterday morning, and shared the shockwaves felt after 2016, I knew there was a possibility for a repeat. I particularly thought what Sherrilyn Ifill (NAACP Legal Defense and Education Fund, Inc.) and The New Yorker's Evan Osnos said had resonance-- our democracy is unhealthy and many in our country may not yet be ready for a larger, multiracial and multigenerational democracy. Yet in the challenge we feel today, there is much opportunity for change and new clarity about our need as a nation to build bigger bridges to create innovation and resilience.
