The future is here... I still vividly remember the very first time I laid eyes on a television 📺 . I was only four. A bunch of folks were gathered in a big backyard, all staring at this little box and watching cricket. I wanted to check the black box out but got yelled at - 'Don't touch!' When I first heard about the concept of Pagers 📟 .... I felt we were peaking into the future. And yesterday? Tried out Apple's Vision Pro 😎 . That same wow feeling hit me again. I can't stop thinking about that experience – it's mind-blowing! It's like a glimpse into our future. Not many folks know about it yet. Only a tiny bit of Apple fans tried it out – less than 1%! But mark my words. It's gonna shake up the tech scene big time. I've got loads of ideas buzzing in my head about how this could be used. Think healthcare, construction, travel, real estate, meditation, and tons more. The possibilities are endless! 💡 You should really go and experience it!! The next question, when I am ordering my Vision Pro... … adding it my Christmas list 🎅🎄 What is the best use case you can think about? Comment below 👇

"Tell me why?" ( Did you just read that whilst singing in your head?) Presenting to colleagues can trigger more pre-game nerves than presenting to anyone else? Is that just me or do others feel the same? I am fortunate in that my colleagues at XR Extreme Reach are an incredibly supportive wonderful bunch, which makes the above even more ridiculous. However, yesterday I shared our XR Customer Success plan and vision 🚀 to 1,000+ colleagues globally during our Company Town Hall in London 🙌 and there were some pre-game nerves, but I wanted to share a tip. My first slide was the below GIF and thanks to the Backstreet Boys: The audience were 😂 My nerves were settled 🤘 I could get down to business 😎 So for whoever it may help - a bit of humour is your friend when presenting and as with most things in life it is best to not take yourself too seriously and make sure you are having some fun along the way. Otherwise what’s the point? #HappyFriday #BackstreetsBack #WhiteTrousers

Imagine a hurdle race. A long one. The first runner bolts ahead, while the second watches closely, learning every move. Then, with precision, they overtake. This is how Netflix, Samsung Electronics and Apple won. And is still winning it. They weren’t first in their industries—far from it. Instead, they learned from the mistakes of first entrants, Blockbuster, Sony and IBM, perfected the product, and dominated the market. Being second isn't always bad. 80% of first movers get outpaced by later entrants. Why? Lower costs, higher profits, and an audience that’s already warmed up. So, next time you think being first is everything, remember: sometimes it's the second (or even 3rd, 4th, Nth) who finishes as the winner. Don't get me wrong—being first has its perks too. It’s about surprising people, building a new audience, and sparking excitement. So whether you’re the bold first, the clever second, or anywhere in the race, just enjoy every lap!

Today's #FridayFuel ☕ is an oldie but goodie: "The Silo Effect" by Gillian Tett 📖 It isn't lost on me that 'silo' is a 4-letter word. I first read the book in 2017 after visiting my UK team at Unity. We were on the cusp of an upmarket play and I knew our team had to evolve as a result. I was new to leadership and wanted to make the right call. Tett walks us through a collection of failures and feats, including anecdotes of how silos effectively stand in the way of innovation, cause friction, and result in operational inefficiencies that bankrupt companies. Sony's story really resonates with me. 🥳 In 1999, Sony announced 3 handheld music-playing devices. 😭 By 2004, Apple's iPod had effectively pushed them out of the digital music handheld game. Why? Sony had 3 different business units working on 3 competing products. They didn't talk to each other because there was no trust, and everyone feared for their jobs. Apple, by comparison, aligned a unified team on 1 product and made it a clear frontrunner by pairing it with the iTunes store. There is a place for internal competition - it's usually called a hackathon 🤷🏿♀️ #businessbooks #professionaldevelopment #books #businessleadership

Apple the Disruptor We all know how Apple has been disrupting the Consumer experience with various products they have launched over decades. This week's #DidYouKnowIT speaks of a different perspective of their creative genius. The launch of the Macintosh was revolutionary indeed. So why not make the "Launch" itself revolutionary? Which is why their Ad for the Mac has been Iconic in every sense of the word. The ad was a take on the movie by the same name 1984. In 1995, The Clio Awards added it to its Hall of Fame, and Advertising Age placed it on the top of its list of 50 greatest commercials. Though it was conceived to be aired during the Super Bowl XVIII in Jan 1984, they did a very short run in the local stores just before midnight on Dec 31st, 1983. This was done apparently to "technically" air the ad in 1983 and hence qualify to nominate themselves for the Clio Awards of 1984. The rest is history. Sharing the 1 min commercial for your ref. Personally, I resonate more with their recent ad which is an aggregation of real-life stories on how their Apple Watch has saved lives. What's your take?
