Last week saw our partners at Takeda take to the stage at #DFARM in Philadelphia to discuss ways in which the #pharmaceutical industry can address site and patient burden in #clinicaltrials. Led by Sriman Banerjee, Jordan Brayanov, PhD and Xuefang Wu, PhD the discussion centred on how the adoption of smart packaging technologies can significantly ensure higher accuracy in data collection, reduce burden on patient and site, and improve overall trial outcomes. There was an acknowledgment that the widespread implementation of smart packaging has been slow, echoing the AARDEX Group position that addressing adoption challenges is essential for all stakeholders to fully realise the potential of smart packaging in clinical trials. The session went on to present to perspectives on how smart #adherence solutions can enable clinical trial teams to build a wider, more valuable perspective on their project. How starting small with pilot programmes is a smart start to wider adoption. The session raised the critical importance of engagement with the regulatory agencies early on, as was the education of key stakeholders to understand the true value of measuring adherence. Exciting News: Avelo Receives a 1.5M Innosuisse Grant!   Following the Eurostars grant in October, our portfolio company Avelo, a Swiss breath diagnostics start-up, has been awarded a CHF 1.5M Innosuisse Startup Innovation Project to further develop a new breath sampling device called AveloCollect.   This 34-month project leverages Avelo’s ongoing Eurostars project and will focus on clinical development and market readiness for AveloCollect.
