P&G Summer Internship - 10 weeks of learning about BRAND BUILDING Last Friday was my last day at Procter & Gamble as a Brand Management Intern for PANTENE. This wasn’t my first internship, but it was my first in Brand Management—a field I've always been passionate about. So, this internship is a pretty big milestone for me. The amount I’ve learned in these 10 weeks is something I couldn’t have found anywhere else. Here are some key takeaways: 1. Start with the WHO, not the HOW: It's all about understanding our consumers. Everything we do should be grounded in their needs, wants, and behaviors. 2. Category analysis isn't the ultimate guide: Sustainable growth comes from driving category growth based on consumer insights, not just following what the market is doing. 3. Be smart with data: Use impactful, actionable data points instead of overwhelming stakeholders with too much information. Beyond the learning, what makes me want to come back here someday are the amazing people I got to work with. ✨ 1 Year Post-Grad: Reflections and Lessons Learned✨ Two years ago, I came across an internship at Max Retail right here on LinkedIn. That opportunity turned into a full-time role after graduation, and I’m so grateful for how much I’ve grown since then. Today, I want to share some reflections from my first year post-grad - not as an expert, but as someone who’s still figuring it all out. (Also, I NEVER post on LinkedIn like this, but here we go!) The biggest lesson I’ve learned is to find a company that drives you and believes in you. If you can’t find that, focus on something you’re passionate about. I’m incredibly lucky to have found both at Max Retail. Being part of a fast-pasted and rapidly growing team, surrounded by inspiring women, has been one of my proudest achievements. Here are a few takeaways from my first year post-grad: 1️⃣ Work hard, and bring your best self every day. If you’re going to invest your time and energy into work, make it meaningful. 2️⃣ Be proud of your work and confident in your abilities. Learning to stand up for myself has been empowering and has helped me grow both personally and professionally. 3️⃣ Prioritize what’s important. This is still a work in progress for me. I’m continuing to learn the importance of focusing on the tasks that truly drive impact, even when I’m passionate about multiple areas. 4️⃣ Seek feedback and embrace it. Constructive criticism isn’t always easy to hear, but it’s essential for growth. 5️⃣ Balance work and life. Post-grad life doesn’t talk about this enough. For me, work is a big part of who I am, but so is making time for what matters outside of work. Surrounding yourself with people who inspire you and push you to be your best makes all the difference. Looking back, I’m grateful for the challenges, lessons, and opportunities that have come my way. If you’re just starting your career, my advice is this: Stay curious, stay driven, and never stop learning. Here’s to year three (and beyond)! This week I worked 3 hour at my internship. On my first day this week I was tasked to package mini bars as most of the tasks for the day had been completed. since there was less to do today, I spent the day packing the bars and organizing bars that had finished cooling. On the second day this week, I was given the opportunity to review a marketing opportunity that Paul had been offered to Paul. The goal of the plan was to raise awareness for Maverick Chocolate as a luxury chocolate brand in Cincinnati. This overview allowed me to relate my internship directly to my marketing course and gave me insight on strategies implemented by marketing companies. Some of the strategies included using keywords on google for advertising, using negative keywords to insure maverick is not found when looking up something unwanted, and using geofencing in order to raise awareness when customers buy from competitors. The plan had tracking goals, a target audience, a timeline, and a geographical area which allowed it to coordinate and implement its goals most efficiently. Afterwards Paul’s showed me how the works. The new grinder is much more efficient and takes only a few minutes to cycle the beans through three times, grounding them into nibs to be used for chocolate. The second new machine allowed us easily prepare the ingredients for the chocolate and mix them perfectly. By pumping the chocolate from the bottom of the mixer back to the top the machine is continuously churning and grinding the nibs, sugar, and butter together, creating a smooth consistency to be molded. #TheBusinessLaunchExperience The Business Launch Experience
