COMMUNITY SHARES 💸 | Last year we relaunched the Booster Fund for #CommunityShares alongside CooperativesUK and Access, backing community investment that positively impacts people’s lives. #CommunityShares empower people to invest in the organisations and assets that serve their communities, making them co-owners and giving them a say in how the business is run. This in turn helps the business raise finance flexibly and affordably. From the community share Booster Fund we found: 💰 For every £1 invested in 2023, an additional £9.30 was leveraged from the community 🏗️ 50% of equity investments through the Booster Fund went to the most deprived communities in England (in the wider market, this is only 12%) Take a look into some of the stories from the Community Shares Unit 👇 https://lnkd.in/eBjvtdmx

Empowering Futures... Every successful grant, every well-managed fund, tells a story of lives changed. When we manage resources, whether they come from federal grants or local initiatives, we’re not just handling numbers. We’re creating opportunities, empowering futures, and building the foundations for communities to thrive. In our experience, the most powerful stories of impact come not from the grand gestures but from the small, consistent steps taken every day. A school in need of resources finally gets the funding it deserves. A family on the brink of losing everything receives support that turns their lives around. These are the stories that fuel our work. Our approach to grants management is simple: every dollar has a purpose, and that purpose is to change lives. By managing resources effectively, we help ensure that the future is bright for the communities we serve. What’s the story your business is writing today? How are you using your resources to empower the futures of others? #EmpoweringFutures #GrantsManagement #CommunityImpact #PurposeDriven

The Ireland Funds have launched their Heart of the Communities Fund. The Heart of the Community Fund is an open grant round designed to meet the needs of not-for-profit organisations delivering vital services and supports to people across the island of Ireland. The Ireland Funds recognises the challenges organisations face in securing funding to build their capacity or meet their core costs, so the Heart of the Community Fund 2024 will provide Organisational Investment Grants. The application form will enable you to share what you’re working towards and how you deliver on your mission, so we can get a picture of your organisation as a whole. If your application is successful, you can then allocate the funding to meet your most pressing needs

Good progress today on securing the next tranche of Dormant Assets to enable finance to flow the charities and social enterprises who most need it. The Government has recommitted to an equal split of the £350m across the four causes over the next four years. That means that £87.5m will flow to social investment wholesalers. Of this £12.5m will support improved outcomes for young people - something in which social investment has a strong track record already. The next step is the publication of the Dormant Assets Strategy which will outline more details about how the money will be used in each of the four spend areas. We hope that this will focus on the priorities defined in the Community Enterprise Growth Plan and are working closely on this with officials in DCMS. https://lnkd.in/eGP8FivE

I’m delighted to announce the first nine projects to receive a share of £12 million in National Lottery funding from The UK Fund – one of our bold commitments as part of our new strategy, It starts with community. Our investment in communities is designed to strengthen society and improve lives across the UK. Key to this is our community-led mission to support communities to come together. These grants will play a role in strengthening relationships between people with different life experiences and backgrounds, and are a significant step forward in our commitment to distributing at least £4 billion to communities by 2030. Today, we have released our Community Research Index report, which highlights how important it is for people to feel part of their community and play a role in shaping its future. Thanks to National Lottery players, this vital investment through The UK Fund means even more people will have opportunities to connect and create transformational change in their communities.
