COMMUNITY SHARES 💸 | Last year we relaunched the Booster Fund for #CommunityShares alongside CooperativesUK and Access, backing community investment that positively impacts people’s lives. #CommunityShares empower people to invest in the organisations and assets that serve their communities, making them co-owners and giving them a say in how the business is run. This in turn helps the business raise finance flexibly and affordably. From the community share Booster Fund we found: 💰 For every £1 invested in 2023, an additional £9.30 was leveraged from the community 🏗️ 50% of equity investments through the Booster Fund went to the most deprived communities in England (in the wider market, this is only 12%) Take a look into some of the stories from the Community Shares Unit 👇 https://lnkd.in/eBjvtdmx

Most asset owners like pension schemes, endowment funds and charities do not invest directly into individual companies but use pooled fund arrangements. In both the public and private markets, there are pooled fund solutions available to investors who wish to target impactful objectives. How can PE firms survive increasingly difficult fundraising?👇 One of the reasons Private Equity is largely shrouded in mystery is its high minimum commitments (‘commits’). This makes it exclusive to institutional investors and wealthy individuals. PE firms are able to raise large funds from few investors. But as fundraising gets increasingly difficult, what options do PE firms have to increase fundraising? 💡Raising funds on deal-by-deal basis rather than locking up funds for years in a blind pool. Investors may be more willing to invest in a particular deal with disclosed details than blind pool. 💡Reducing minimum commits to attract more investors. Possible downside is the effect it may have on the PE firm’s reputation/ brand, especially where the firm has always been known to service a certain type of investors. 💡Reducing management fees. But this may be unrealistic in light of general inflation. How are you navigating the challenges of fundraising? #PrivateEquity #Fundraising
