For years I’ve paid close attention to the successes and failures of a solid recruiting process! I’ve documented what companies have done and how sometimes the smallest tweak can make the biggest difference. To this day, we still get asked, “how big is your database,” and, “once you place someone with us, will you recruit them out down the road?!?” Both of these questions leave me a little dumbfounded, but still tend to be the focus for companies looking for a partner. First, you should have a lot more than a database to talk about! Today it’s about your NETWORK, your research tools, the team, the ability to fully understand what your client needs and the culture they provide, and your unique ability to tell your clients story! It’s following a proven process that helps your client find exactly what they need to take them to the next level! Last, don’t even get me started with the question around recruiting out of the company we just placed a solid candidate in! If that is an experience you’ve had with another search firm…I am truly sorry! You deserve better! Partner up with a firm like Grey that will take every position seriously and will bring you along in our search process. We will share data and insights. We will utilize assessments to see gaps on your leadership team and understand the candidates strengths and weaknesses. We will utilize AI tools, compensation analysis, and effective employment branding that attracts the candidates you want! We are here to make an impact and get it done!

I've invited industry experts to review the data and add their commentary. Here's Sams take: "One standout stat from the report: Only 24% of recruiters feel confident they can clearly communicate how their approach solves client problems. What does that tell us? Nearly three-quarters of recruiters can’t articulate why they’re worth engaging. That said, the cultural responses were overwhelmingly positive. Recruiters believe in what they do - they’re motivated, they’re hungry. But motivation alone doesn’t move the needle. Without the right frameworks, training, and tools, climbing the value chain feels like wishful thinking." What do you think; does the data represent what's going on in your business?
